Despise Not Prophesyings

Pray without ceasing.
In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
Quench not the Spirit.
Despise not prophesyings.
Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.
I Thessalonians 5:17-21

Previously, I just posted this video with essentially no commentary or review. Based on questions I have received, I see that more discussion is warranted and have updated this post to address some of these issues.

Fellowship vs. Followship - Part 5

Experiencing Fellowship

"God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord." I Corinthians 1:9

People tend to think of fellowship as something that is relational on the horizontal.  They define it as how we interact with each other in the Body of Christ.  However, Scripture presents fellowship as being primarily communion with God.  It is our fellowship with God - or the lack thereof - which determines the quality of our fellowship with others.  In fact, the attempt to experience fellowship with man without having proper fellowship with Christ will always lead to bondage.

Fellowship vs. Followship - Part 4

Following Error

"They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them. We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. HEREBY know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error." I John 4:5-6

In Book of I John, God outlines for us the basics necessary for a sound faith.  He indicates that this is a standard whereby we will know the spirit of truth from the spirit of error.  We should not just believe everything that is said to come from God.  There are only two sources for spiritual inspiration in this world: either the Spirit of the Lord (who is truth) or unclean spirits (who is of error, which is Satan).  Something is either the doctrine of Christ or the doctrine of devils.  God has equipped us, and admonishes us, to know the difference.

Fellowship vs. Followship - Part 3

Following Signs

Who Has Bewitched you?

People often confuse following Christ with following signs and wonders. They are not one and the same. When the Apostles were spreading the Gospel, they soon came across Simon the sorcerer.

"But there was a certain man, called Simon, which beforetime in the same city used sorcery, and bewitched the people of Samaria, giving out that himself was some great one: To whom they all gave heed, from the least to the greatest, saying, This man is the great power of God. And to him they had regard, because that of long time he had bewitched them with sorceries.

But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women. Then Simon himself believed also: and when he was baptized, he continued with Philip, and wondered, beholding the miracles and signs which were done." Acts 8:9-13

Both Simon and Philip performed signs and wonders, but the difference was the preaching of God's kingdom.

Fellowship vs. Followship - Part 2

Following Man

"Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ." I Corinthians 11:1

Paul instructs the people to follow him as he follows Christ. The goal, the target, the standard is still Christ...not man.

The instruction is simple. As we see others exemplifying Godly lifestyles, take note of their fruit and seek also to do likewise; not because the person is some great one, but because Christ is being glorified and magnified.

Unfortunately, some seem to mistakenly think that the verse ends after "Be ye followers of me."

Fellowship vs. Followship - Part 1

Follow the Leader

In a recent article called Spiritual Sodomy, we have posted a "Priestcraft" video series by Youtube's Faith and Reasons, which examines the use of sorcery and witchcraft in much of the modern churchworld.

One of the affects of spiritual sodomy cited in that article was people having unhealthy, inordinate, unGodly, enslaving soul ties to those they deem to be leaders in the church. A lot of this stems from a failure to understand not only who the church is, but who the head of the church is.

"Brethren, be not children in understanding: howbeit in malice be ye children, but in understanding be men." I Corinthians 14:20

Spiritual Sodomy

Priestcraft

This video series exposes sorcery and witchcraft in the churchworld. Although we are not the authors of this series, as additional videos are released, they will be posted here. Evelyn entitled her series "Priestcraft" and defines that as:
The way false shepherds operate and the different tactics they use to draw disciples after themselves & deceive them, seduce them, manipulate, brainwash, coerce, intimidate, threaten, guilt, dominate, extort, exploit, control, and bewitch their followers (meaning to put them in awe, wonder, astonishment, and cause them to be out of their minds) .
