Dare We?

Dare we stand before the living God and declare the right to live our own lives the way that we see fit?

Still think God gave His life so that you could enjoy your "best life now" in this temporal world?

It is only when we completely ignore the depth of His sacrifice that we can make faith in Him to be something so shallow and self-serving.

While we were oblivious to our own plight and dead in our sin, Jesus died for us.  Yet, how many times do we go about our own way each day...and not even notice Him?  Do you think there is even one moment that God has not considered the life of His Son?

Moved to Compassion

Am I My Brother's Keeper?

A few years ago, I was praying for someone in need. "Lord, please help so-and-so", I prayed.

But God answered me and said, "Don't pray for me to help them. If you really cared about them, you would do what is necessary for me to move through you to help them. You only ask me to help them because you don't want to sacrifice yourself."

What could I say? He was right...and I knew what He meant. I was concerned for the plight of this person, but not enough to actually sacrifice of myself or put myself out. God was their Father, I figured, so He should take care of it. I was doing my duty simply by praying for them.

Gimme a Beat

Don't Forget The Lyrics Music!

Not so long ago, I did an article on the effects of beats on the brain. It reviewed the nature of syncopated beats as a means to examine the type of music God inspires versus the type of music Satan inspires.

A few fought tooth & nail on the entire idea of such a thing. That music - apart from the lyrics - can be against God all by itself.

In spite of the numerous scientific reports which show that music (not lyrics) can impact mood, behavior, thought patterns, and physiological development, many still refused to believe that the beats in music can determine the nature of a song. They insisted that music being good or bad can only be defined by the lyrics, and not by the music itself. Entire genres of music could not be considered unGodly just because of the beats. Well, apparently one company knows such claims to be false.

Where Was the Love?

Where was the love when Jesus....
Called the Pharisees and Sadducees whited sepulchres who were full of dead men's bones and uncleaness?
Matthew 23:27

Hypocrites full of extortion and excess?
Matthew 23:25

A generation of vipers who may not escape the damnation of hell?
Matthew 23:33

Children of the devil?
John 8:44

Am I Saved?

Does Your Heart Condemn You?

Yesterday, I saw a video that concerned me. It is the testimony of a man who doubted his salvation, but has now come to "really" trust in the Lord.

The first troubling point in the video was the response from his church. Upon hearing the man confess that he feared still being lost, he was immediately removed from the church members list.

Do we REALLY Believe?

The One Secret

"The one marvelous secret of a holy life lies not in imitating Jesus, but in letting the perfections of Jesus manifest themselves in my mortal flesh. Sanctification is "Christ is you." It is His wonderful life that is imparted by faith as a sovereign gift of God's grace." Oswald Chambers

God's sovereign, free gift of grace is available to us by faith. Not so that we might consider "What Would Jesus Do", but so that we might show others Jesus Christ IN US, the hope of glory. Do we really believe that?
