Taste and See

Powers of the World to Come

"O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him." Psalm 34:8

The following sermon from Pastor Zac Poonen talks about the importance of not settling in a religious comfort zone, but fulfilling our own personal destiny in Christ as a member of His Body.
  • The Holy Spirit is a down payment on our future redemption
  • Through the Holy Spirit, we can get a taste now of our full inheritance which we will receive later.
  • The gift of the Holy Spirit is given to allow believers to taste the word of God and taste the powers of the world to come.
  • There is a difference between looking at a picture of a great meal and actually tasting it. Do you really want to taste the powers of God or are you satisfied just looking at a picture of it?
  • God has a personal plan for each individual's life
  • If you don't search for God in all your heart, then you will not find Him.
  • The Church will go through the great tribulation in the end times. It is so clear in Scripture, that one must be deliberately blind not to see it.
  • Yet even persecution cannot hinder the building of the church, for the gates of Hell cannot prevail against it.
  • If God can find you as a person who believes, then He will build His church through you.
