You Can Be Free From Masturbation

"For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication: That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour; Not in the lust of concupiscence, even as the Gentiles which know not God." I Thessalonians 4:3-5

Sexual sin is a real issue for these days, especially for young people.  Yet it is those hidden areas such as this which rarely see the light of day because people are often too ashamed to speak of them.

Over the years, various young people have posted or sent comments on this blog asking for prayer about masturbation.  Therefore, if the sphere of individuals with whom the Lord has let me come into contact are dealing with such issues, then I know it must be relevant for a broader audience.

If openly discussing such topics offends you then I am sorry....sorry for you that is.  Sorry that you have chosen to create for yourself a make-believe world of "salvation" which is too pristine to be touched with such issues as sin.  Sorry that your "Christianity" doesn't have enough Christ to engender compassion for those struggling with such real life issues.

Jesus washed the feet of His disciples; yet, some "Christians" are too "saved" to get their hands dirty serving others in the hopes of bringing them into deeper fellowship with Jesus.  Let it not be said of us.  Not everything about Christianity is sunshine and roses.  The truth be told, Jesus is redeeming us from an old sinful nature with its own corrupt and defiled desires.  These must be dealt with.  If we cannot discuss sin, how can we ever hope to bring such persons struggling with it to salvation?

The following video was shared with me yesterday.  It is the testimony of a young lady named Dameco about being freed from masturbation. I pray that it encourages those who may be struggling and gives them the assurance to know that all things are possible with God.  Jesus is our Savior, which means He is our Deliverer; and He is faithful!  You can be free from sexual sin by the blood of Jesus!

  1. I thank you so much for posting the video it answers a few troubling questions about this issue of masturbation that I've had all my life.

I never knew or thought that girls would have a need to masturbate.

I never also though that girls were sex addicts.

I also never thought I would actually see a video like this on this major taboo subject.

Thank you you are very courageous for coming out in public like that, I certainty wouldn't! I don't have the balls of steel like you do!

BTW, I don't think of you any less nor do I judge you, I know what you're talking about, because I am 50 yo and I still suffer from this...love you girl..you're a friend in my book..

  2. Hi Anonymous,

This is not actually Dameco's blog, although I too believe she was extremely brave to be so open about this topic. The contact info for Dameco is at the end of this video, so please feel free to send her a note via that means.

Yes, male or female, sexual sin (or any sin for that matter) knows no gender bias. This just further illustrates why we need Jesus. There is no reason why we should live in bondage and torment when He has paid the price to make us free.

I pray that Dameco's testimony encourages all struggling with sin to be mindful of the power available in Jesus to overcome it.

    Thanks for commenting!

  3. Thank you for posting about this. Before reading Derek Prince's book earlier this year, I didn't know that this was something that could possibly require deliverance... though I had my suspicions.

On another note, I retraced some steps and found my old blog. The original name I used was broken_rhyme. I've been posting at livejournal and co-moderating a Christian community there since 2008(changed name to broken_skai there). But I think I'm going to try and salvage this older blog... no posts there since 2008. Looking back, its hard to believe I wrote all that stuff. (Which I feel I need to delete seeing how as I am no longer that man.)

But again, thank you for the encouraging post.

    God Bless.

  5. The Mormon Church is a bunch of hypocrites and despicable cowardly fools. There is no where in the Bible that it states that self stimulation is a sin. The Mormon Church may teach that it is wrong or sinful. Ask yourselves something if something is not nor spoke in the Bible how is that a sin, sin, sin? You have no idea what I can tell you hypocritical religious people, you tell kids not to touch themselves in the privates but your religion is traced to child molesters or creeps who molest thirteen or twelve year olds. Do I think it is wrong or immoral for a child or anyone to explore themselves? No, it's normal to some point. To the perverted fools or creeps in the Mormon Church just remember that a persons body belongs to them: My body belongs to me, so what can you try to do to me?

    1. Hi Ashley,

This subject has obviously touched a nerve with you. All I can say is, "Repent." Stop trying to defend this sin and just ask God to cleanse you from it.

Maybe another version of the Scripture posted in this article would help you. I Thessalonians 4:3-5 says,

"God's plan is to make you holy, and that entails first of all a clean cut with sexual immorality. Every one of you should learn to control his body, keeping it pure and treating it with respect, and never regarding it as an instrument for self-gratification, as do pagans with no knowledge of God." (JB Phillips version)

"For this is the will of God, that you be sanctified [separated and set apart from sin]: that you abstain and back away from sexual immorality; that each of you know how to control his own body in holiness and honor [being available for God’s purpose and separated from things profane], not [to be used] in lustful passion, like the Gentiles who do not know God and are ignorant of His will." (Amplified version)

We are to be in control of our bodies knowing them to be temples of the living God and not use them as a means to gratify our own fleshly lusts & passions. That is what masturbation does; it uses your own body to satisfy lust through self-gratification.

Whether the word masturbation is ever used or not, the act is still forbidden in Scripture. Similarly, the word "Trinity" is never used explicitly, but the concept is there.

Know this as well, the purpose of the Bible is not to list everything that is sin, because all unrighteousness is sin (I John 5:17). The Bible is given to transform us into the image of Christ, making us partakers of the divine nature vs. being ruled by the sin nature so that Christ may live through us.

Anything that is based in "self-" is sin and is the antithesis of the nature of God. God is self-less and those who belong to Him are also being made self-less. Even sex itself is not intended as a "self-pleasing" act (I Corinthians 7:3-5).

Mormonism, Catholcism, Baptist, Methodist, etc. these are all just man-made religions designed to bind you in one area or another. Forgot those things. Just seek Christ with a sincere heart. Ask Him to give you understanding of His word and believe what He says. Linked on the right side of the blog is Omega Ministries which has many sermons which can help you rightly divide the word as a resource.

Your eternal destiny is not the result of what "you" think, but what saith the Lord. If you think your body belongs to you, then you need to get saved.

"What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?" I Corinthians 6:19

  6. The following sine regarding sexual immorality in the Bible are: Formication, Adultery, incest, rape, prostitution, homeosexuality, and beastiality but never masturbation or self stimulation of the genitals. So anyone who says that masturbation is a serious wrongdoing or sin best think before saying it is. HOW IS IT A SIN OR SERIOUS FORM OF WRONGDOING WHEN NEVER MENTIONED IN THE BIBLE? Religions are mind controlling and manipulative hypocrites especially the Mormon Church. They think too harsh on certain things, meddling in private matters that don't concern them, perhaps they're overcontrollimg creeps. The child molesters in the religion who molest twelve and thirteen year old girls and steal them of their purity or innocence. Teaching kids that it is wrong to touch themselves when the child pediphiles exist in there. That is why I wouldn't care too much about Mormonism. The same with the Catholic Church out there.
