The Future of Christianity?

"And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation; That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us:

For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring. Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man's device.

And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to REPENT: Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead." Acts 17:26-31

My children attend a Christian school...and these days that has less and less meaning.  A few of the students went to visit Berea College last month, which claims to have a wonderful Christ-based program.  Not only that, but they are able to provide full scholarships for their students, making their college education tuition-free.  The students spoke so highly of their visit, that I added this to the list of colleges we are considering for our own children.

However, we must remember that there is "another Jesus, another gospel, and another spirit" which seeks to deceive people and lead them away from the True & Living God (II Corinthians 11:4).  Anyone can claim to be a servant of Jesus Christ, but to which "Jesus" are they referring, and how do we know?

"To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them." Isaiah 8:20

In the following videos, a couple of street preachers visit the Berea campus and start referencing the word of God.  The response of the students from this "Christian" College is nothing short of heartbreaking.  They begin to argue adamantly against God's word while at the same time claiming to represent Him.

"He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him." I John 2:3-4

Please understand that I am in no way affiliated with these street preachers.  I am speaking primarily about the students' own testimonies and whether such demonstrates a personal knowledge of the Lord.  Do they know the Lord they claim to represent?

"This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me." Matthew 15:8

Although they attend a "Christian" college and claim to belong to Jesus Christ, every argument they make against the Scriptures is based in lies & deception, such as:.
  • This [preaching from the word of God] is why people are afraid of Christians; we should just be showing people "love".
  • If one's comments cause an adverse reaction from people, then one must not be speaking for God because He is not the author of confusion.
  • It is unGodly to say that homosexuals are going to Hell because God created the homosexual too.
  • Jesus has made all people one, so we are all the same to God.
  • Judging is a sin.  Only God can judge.
  • Quoting the Bible as God's word is not an "objective" or "logical" defense of what is right.
  • We all have a relationship with God - whatever gods or religions we have.  The Bible is about having a personal relationship to the Lord - whatever "lord" you may believe in.
  • You can never lose your salvation.

Each of these statements is false.

"The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple. The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes." Psalms 19:7-8

We have a "Christian" campus with college students who have no idea even who Jesus is.   Why?  Because they have rejected His words.  Since there is no fear of the Lord, there is no understanding.  All that we are left with then is a "highly educated" fallen and lost generation.

Although people don't like to hear it, there IS a right way and a wrong way...and only one leads to eternal life (Isaiah 30:21; Matthew 7:13-14; II John 1:6).  The very ones this college is named after so reverenced the Scriptures that they searched them wholeheartedly to ensure that they were holding unto the truths of God (Acts 17:10-11).  Now, in the name of the Bereans, we have professing believers teaching others that God's word is corrupted and can be discarded.

People can speak esoterically about "love" and "Jesus", but apart from the truths of God's word, they have neither.

This video is one of the reason's why Jesus' return must be soon.  The days have truly become like Sodom and Gomorrha (Luke 17:28-30).  If this is the future of Christianity, then the future for mankind will be damnation.  This is why God must raise up a people (as He has promised) who really do love Him and desire to see others set free from sin more than they desire to enjoy this temporal life.

"Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? It is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men." Matthew 5:13

Some students at "Christian" Berea College mock
warnings
for repentance by proclaiming a
"Party in Hell" to celebrate sin.
It is of no use getting into a battle of words.  While someone may have been convicted enough by the preaching of God's word that day to actually turn in repentance to Jesus, what people really need is to be confronted by the power of God.  As long as it is just your word against mine, your interpretation vs. ours then it simply devolves into a shouting match with those who are lost singing "Yes, Jesus Loves Me" in an attempt to continue the delusion.

These students need prayer, that the power of God can come to bear upon their lives so that they actually come to know and serve Him.  I can only wonder how much of their deceptions are actually the product of what is being taught at Berea College.

However, they are not alone.  There are many adult "Christians" who promote the same falsehoods and believe the same lies.  What is depicted in this video is simply a snapshot of what would likely make-up 97% of "Christianity" today.  We will each have to answer to God in that day, especially those who have claimed to know the Lord but have purposefully led others astray.  The blood of those lost souls will be upon their hands.

In these evil days, we must know unequivocally not only what we believe, but in whom we believe.   Faith in a lie - no matter how fervent - still leads to death.

"But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words?" John 5:47

(Prov.11:30..He that winneth souls is wise.)The word says that the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be so I'm not sure what his expected outcome was exactly.I don't agree with the street preachers inflammatory delivery/approach and lack of a bible present for reference purposes.. However, I can't say that he was wrong (sin is sin) and unfortunately every soul there that was mocking, laughing and arguing can't say that they never heard him on that great day and will surely be held accountable for what they've heard -although they chose to scoff- unless they repent.

  2. Hi Anonymous,

I cannot speak for the street preacher, although I did see that he had a Bible (he was waving it at one point).

The part which was most troubling to me was to see students of an institution whose mission is to "promote the cause of Christ" so misinformed and deceived.

I shouldn't be surprised I suppose. My own college used to have a mission of "Our whole school for Christ", but has moved purposefully away from that in recent years. It has even been removed from the school logo.

These days are truly wicked indeed. My heart simply breaks for those students, who seem completely unaware of the peril in which their souls stand. I pray that the true church of God seeks Him now like never before, so that souls can be saved from the wrath to come.

  3. Ma'am, you and this preacher are the type of people who give Christians a bad name.

  4. Both sad and without surprise. Wickedness is now worn like a badge of honor to so many, especially the young. A generation is being raised that scoffs at God. What will their children be like?

  5. Hi Anonymous,

You say, "Ma'am, you and this preacher are the type of people who give Christians a bad name."

Is that a bad name before God or before men? Know this, the early Church also had a "bad name" because it was not of this world and was birthed in power to demonstrate that it was from God. So they that were of the world rejected them (Acts 17:6-8); in fact, Jesus said that we should expect it to be so (John 15:19).

Interestingly enough, the more the church has become like the world, the less some Christians seem to understand God's warnings in this regard (James 4:4).

I am no one and have not the slightest interest in defending any sort of worldly reputation. However, I always stand (as every Christian) open for correction if I am in error...but it must be according to the word of God. So, if by God's word you have some correction to bring, please do so knowing it will be prayerfully and thankfully received.

"As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed. For do I now persuade men, or God? Or do I seek to please men? For if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ. But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man." Galatians 1:9-11

    Thanks for your comments.

  6. WOW! I am almost speechless at the utter ignorance and complete disregard, disrespect, and arrogance of the students. Is this what we are up against? The minds of these people have been deceieved by the spirit of this world. The sad part is that they think they are right. It seems that those are the worse kind. I mean you can deal with a person who knows they are lost, but the ones who think they have the truth, Lord have mercy! That is scary to think that anybody can be deceived in that manner. This is why we must examine our ownselves daily by the Word of God to see if we be in the Faith! If we don't we may end up cursing God and calling the truth a lie and a lie the truth! Let us seek His face on behalf of this generation! Thanks for this post, truly sobering and sad!

  7. Latter Day, I am FLOORED. Before reading this article, I clicked on the "Berea College" link and read up on the college. Just looking at its website, I thought "Awww how nice. What a beautiful Christian school. Pictures of faculty members holding advanced degrees and awards for outstanding teaching. Seal that read "top ten liberal arts schools for 2011." Nice pictures of students studying diligently in laboratories. Acres of sprawling grass and ponds. Learning seems to be a priority, and the mission clearly wants to produce servants of Christ." It was all just so lovely.

Reality SMACK: THEN I watched the clip. I thought "Is this the same school with the "beautiful" website?!!"HOW DECEIVING IMAGES CAN BE!! Those students are monstrously deceived. AND THEY FLAUNT AND ARE PROUD OF THEIR SIN-arguing adamantly against God's word!!! at a "Christian" college???? (Still dazed and shocked; I'm just going to stop typing).

  8. Should this surprise us? The hypocrise of the church, the tuning away of Christ over years & years, adults who think and act like children and call themselves Christians. How else are our children to act? Who do you think they emulate? God will raise up a new Church of true believers, led by the Holy spirit, fearing God and God alone. All we see the glory of God.I tell you now there will be no gray areas. Glory to God! Our Lord & Savior Jesus!

  9. Hi DeeKay07,

You are right. There sure shouldn't be any surprise. Somehow though, it doesn't make such delusions any less pitiful.

Why should Satan get one more life? Why should one more person die enslaved to sin when Jesus gave His life for us to be set free? Yet, as Stephanie says above, it is oftentimes easier for the unchurched to truly receive Jesus than those in false religion. Just as in the days when Jesus walked on earth, the religious persons did not heed His message because they figured that they "were not sick" (Matthew 9:12).

I yearn for the day you describe. It surely is not far away.

    God Bless!

  10. Wow this is truly repugnant - A 'Christian College' what is that - the sad thing is that these youngsters are adverse to Christ and the Holy Spirit - how can they be saved? I pray they have the time to repent and be saved, but it is running out.

The educational institutions are Roman and destructive - at most a waste of time. We have to be honest and ask ourselves brethren what is a Roman education for? Do we need it? or are we indoctrinated into sending our children into this carnal detour.

I understand your concerns, and while I will definitely agree that current educational institutions (assuming that is what you are referring to) are far from perfect, I would just like to point out that they are not necessarily "a waste of time".

Without the placement of some form of an educational system, many people in developed countries might not know how to read or write. In fact, access to a "Roman" education is what helped facilitate the development of computers, as well as the Internet. You seem to find both of these tools very useful. So please, the next time you decide to dismiss entire institutions based off of one article, look a little deeper and search a little longer.

    2. Hi Concerned Visitor,

While I cannot answer for the Anonymous poster to whom you respond, I thought you should know that before any "education system" existed, education still occurred. It happened predominately at home and the Bible was a primary source for children learning how to read and write. Further, one of the inventors who helped make PCs what they are today dropped out of such a "Roman" institution (Bill Gates). So I am not sure that such institutions alone deserve as much credit as you want to attribute them.

Of course, no one is denying that people should have access to education. However, real knowledge begins with the fear of the Lord. Anything else simply results in nothing more than educated fools.

"The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction." Proverbs 1:7

May we all seek true wisdom from above and not simply the wisdom of men which is earthly, sensual, and devilish (James 3:15-17). After all, doesn't logic itself tell us that it makes more sense to invest ourselves in life that is eternal vs. temporal?

      Thanks for commenting!

  11. Hi Anonymous,

I can appreciate your thinking along the lines of education. God led me to do a video series on education some time ago examining the demonic objectives of many education "reforms".

Your questions are valid and something which should be prayerfully considered by those with college age children.

    God Bless!

  12. Thanks for your reply - I found your Train up a child series very informative and part of the reason my husband and I intend to homeschool our children.

I wasted so much time in my Uni days gaining a classical education but walking away from God - I believe your children are blessed to have a firm biblical foundation in the home to springboard them to their calling in Christ.

So much of the working world nowadays is grounded in humanism and regulated so the free practice and marketing of your skills is restricted. I feel it is important the youngsters can get to grips with the real skills of life - growing and cooking their own food, building things with their hands, basic medical care. The body of Christ will need these skills in the harsh times to come while we wait on Jesus.

  13. I had a difficult time watching the video because of the rudeness of both the students and the street preacher. We really don't need much more evidence of the sin that is going on in the colleges after seeing how the students at Penn State were so violently upset over the firing of their football coach, do we?

That being said, the street preacher will win few to Christ in the manner he is exhibiting. Christ changed peoples' lives with compassion, kindness and love even when he made them face the truth head on. He did not mince words, but I am sure they were not said mockingly or unkindly (unless He was speaking to the Pharasees and the Saducees). We are to be led by Christ in all things and not work out of our own efforts. It was obvious that this is what he was doing.
Jesus is the most powerful force anywhere and when a person meets the true Jesus they cannot help but be changed in some manner; either for good or for bad. Prayer for our young people is imperative at this late stage in the life of humanity. May God have mercy on all of us.

  14. The man of God does not strive. You can not have the truth without compassion and compassion without truth. Its sad to see how deceived the college students were but on the other hand, the streetpreacher was being completely antagonistic. That is what you call operating in the flesh. If you're going to preach the gospel, do so, but be led by the Holy Spirit and don't cast your pearls before swine. Some people have to be interceded for, especially if they have a religious spirit. Talking will do no good because they think they already have the truth. The god of this age has blinded their minds, and they accepted another Jesus, another gospel. The true remnant must come together, pray and fast for this to happen!

    ReplyDelete
  15. Hi Anonymous,

I agree that preachers should not strive nor cast pearls before swine. In terms of the preacher, the following came to mind:

"Some indeed preach Christ even of envy and strife; and some also of good will: The one preach Christ of contention, not sincerely, supposing to add affliction to my bonds: But the other of love, knowing that I am set for the defence of the gospel. What then? notwithstanding, every way, whether in pretence, or in truth, Christ is preached; and I therein do rejoice, yea, and will rejoice." Philippians 1:15-18

I too have encountered those who operate in the flesh, thinking it is the Spirit of God.

In the end, the flesh is something that must be crucified. With prayer and fasting (as you say) we can be better prepared to walk in the Spirit.

    Thanks for your comments.

  16. Hey, great post! This is Eric (Maria & Eric). These street preachers are my good friends. We've evangelized many places and college campuses together in NC and California(Hollywood,UNC, Fayetteville, Raleigh, etc. Though their styles and deliveries have changed over the years, let's be honest, they're doing alot more than what we're not doing. However, we must be led by the SPIRIT and our street ministry events must be bathed in prayer and fasting. Only the compassion of Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit can transform and regenerate a hardened sinner, not the methods displayed by Finney or Spurgeon, but Holy Ghost Acts power. If He did it for me, He can do it for anyone. Love this website. Please tell V and family I said hello. Love ya!!

  17. After watching that video, and listening to the willful ignorance of these students I got angry.

In my anger and frustration at the idea of ever being confronted by a group like this I asked the Lord... How can these be reached? They know the Scriptures. They're overflowing with bible knowledge and history. They know that Jesus loves them, that He died and was resurrected for them. What more could be said? What more could be done? And as I am ready to give up the idea of these people ever being reached... as I am in a place where I would just wash my hands of them and walk away leaving them to be cast into Hell, the Holy Spirit spoke to me.

Friend... don't ever let anyone convince you that the Lord will not speak to you in a personal and private way. He speaks to the Church as a corporate body of believers. But He also speaks in a personal way to those individuals who continually seek His face in brokenness, humility, honesty, and desperation.

He imparted to my spirit and impressed upon my heart a simple question.

What if your child whom you dearly love was among this crowd?

That question changes everything. For those that have watched this video, I would ask you the same question that was impressed upon me. What would you do if your child whom you dearly love was among this crowd? What if it were your husband or your wife? Your mother or your father? Your sister or your brother?

For those that walk in fellowship with the Holy Spirit, that know His voice, and understand His language, He will impart at times a glimpse of this world from the perspective of Jesus. And for those filled with His Spirit and with His love, all it takes is a brief glimpse to put things into the right perspective. The only perspective that really matters... His perspective.

Personally, I don't know what words I could ever speak that would reach individuals such as these. But in light of what the Holy Spirit impressed upon my heart, I know that I would never stop trying. I would never stop trying to reach the Lord for them. For someone that you dearly love, is there anything that you wouldn't do to reach the Lord for them? Is there anything that you wouldn't be willing to try in Christ? Is there anything that you wouldn't sacrifice? If I have to fast then I'll fast. If I have to spend my nights in prayer for months at a time then I'll pray. If I have to weep then so be it. If I have to walk out of step with some denomination then so be it.

    Mark 12
30 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.
31 And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.

    John 15
13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

May the Spirit of the Lord be with you.

  18. Hi Eric!!!

How are you? How is the family? It is so good to hear from you. I do miss you both and pray that you are well.

People often seem to have specific views of street preachers and - while approaches may differ - It is true that all must be Spirit led.

I'll also say that the exposure of speaking to people face to face about God - and taking frequent, vitriol responses - better prepares them for the end times than for some whose primary evidence of being a "Christian witness" is going to church weekly. While I don't think these students were necessarily rude (until the end perhaps), many times people are not so reserved in espousing their hatred for the word of God. We must be prepared to deal with that.

Thanks for adding your comments and please give my best to Maria too!

  19. Hi Broken Rhyme,

While I didn't get angry about the student's response, I can understand your reaction. Just this week, I got frustrated with someone we have been discipling because they didn't seem to be taking accountability for their walk with the Lord. I too wanted to "wash my hands" of dealing with such a person.

However, immediately God impressed upon me that I had no right to be frustrated because it was not my expectations they had to live up to. My job was to be a witness to them - even in their blindness - in the hopes that God would give them light to see. We can be too quick at times to write others off, forgetting that we too would be lost if not for the grace of God.

The Father desires for all to be saved, so He must have a heart for those who are lost and we need to have His heart in order to reach them.

May God's desire become our desire in all things, by His mercy and grace.

  20. I go to school here and am in the video. I am an Atheist. I would like to clarify something which the blog author and every commentator is getting wrong. Berea College is not, and is not intended to be, a "Christian College" in the sense in which you use the term; it is a private college which was "founded on christian principles." The college is not associated with any doctrine or denomination and the christian principles which it is supposed to be in accord are character traits exemplified by Jesus such as compassion and charity. The college teaches a normal, secular, curriculum; groups and coalitions of non-christian religions are encouraged. It is not expected that students will be Christians, as many are not, nor does the college promote religion or proselytize in any form. I myself, and most other students, are drawn to Berea by the free tuition policy and not for any religious reason. I am friends with many professors here who are atheist like me and none feel uncomfortable teaching at this "Christian" school. So hopefully this information clarifies your discussion of my college and classmates, not all of whom claim to be christian.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Hello Anonymous,

I understand your comments, but that is why the article was written. Berea College is but a microcosm of what is considered modern "Christianity" itself (hence the article): a whore pimping the name of Jesus while birthing harlotry and abominations (Rev. 17:5).

As for whether the college claims to be Christian or not, I have to let it speak for itself:

Berea College, founded by ardent abolitionists and radical reformers, continues today as an educational institution still firmly rooted in its historic purpose "to promote the cause of Christ."

People often pick and choose what they want to believe about Jesus in an attempt to pervert Christianity. Such is the practice of even our current President.

If only unbelievers could be as casual & nonchalant about Jesus as you suggest. However, that is never the case because man knows instinctively that Jesus is Lord; therefore, the old man desperately fights against the truth.

What is depicted in that video is not unbelievers who are disinterested in the Gospel and profess no affiliation with Christianity. What's presented is students at a self-proclaimed "Christian" College, attempting to pervert the way of salvation.

A homosexual man once said to me, "It is none of your business how I choose to live my life."

I agreed and said, "You are right! You can choose to live however you desire. But as soon as you claim that God accepts and approve of those choices, then you have made it my business."

Berea College (and any unbelieving students) has the right to believe and teach as it chooses. But as soon as it does so in the name of Jesus Christ, then such becomes the business of every true Christian.

I hope that in your search for knowledge, you actually attain to the knowledge of the Lord. It matters not if you are an atheist now. God - in His mercy and love - still considers you each day, even providing the very air that you breathe. May you receive a revelation of Him just as He is, in the name of Jesus.

    ReplyDelete
  22. The college was indeed founded by abolitionists and reformers and the "cause of Christ" which they wished to promote was one of love and social equality. They believed that Christ taught one should love all people and treat them equally and this principle, not some doctrine of sin, hell, and salvation, is the christian basis of the college. While I do not believe in Christ I have respect for the ideals which the founders of this college ascribe to him. You object evidently because Berea's version of the cause of Christ is not the same as yours, and refer to my college as a whore birthing "harlotry and abominations." Those are not neutral terms. It is true that most of the students in the video are Christian; I noticed at the time that the christian students seemed most upset by the preacher's insults and intolerance. Likewise you seem most upset and driven to insults by Christians who do not believe the same things as you. As an atheist I find this interesting to observe.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Hello Anonymous,

What you describe is not the "cause of Christ" at all.

"Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice." John 18:7

Anyone who denies & perverts the truths of God is not championing the cause of Christ and does not even know Him. Rather, they have fashioned for themselves an idol, "another Jesus" (II Cor. 11:4).

Please, don't be mistaken. The students are in grave error, but not because they don't measure up to my standards. Jesus Christ - the Way, the Truth, and the Life - is the only standard. When we deny His truths, we deny Him; and that is what so terribly sad about the "professing" Christians in that video.

And you are correct. While never intended to insult, my words are likewise not intended to be neutral. There is no neutrality. I stand unequivocally on the side of Jesus Christ and should this offend, then so be it.

If Berea College is teaching what was seen in that video, then it certainly is birthing harlots and abominations, as seen in the video.

    ReplyDelete
  24. While you may claim not to insult, the term "whore" is certainly an insult to most and I object to its being applied to my alma mater. From the way in which you hold the college itself responsible for the remarks of the students in the video, it appears that you believe a Christian school should expel/not admit such students, or should force them to change their beliefs, or should not allow them to express their beliefs in public. How else is the college implicated in their free speech? The school allows students to think and speak as they choose, which I am glad of, as otherwise I would not be here. Some students here have the beliefs which you see in the video, and for that you call them harlots and abominations. They are my fellow students, and I take offense at such language being applied to them as well. While I may not agree with their beliefs, I stand with them 100% in their right to free belief and speech. As your Jesus said, "by their fruits ye shall know them." I do not believe in the God these students believe in, but I have seen the love of which they speak in their own lives, and if your God would send these people to hell then I want nothing to do with him even supposing your beliefs are correct. I had rather be damned with my friends than saved by a God who condemns them. And wicked as you will think that statement, it is based on more love than you know of.

I am afraid I must bow out of this conversation now - I merely stopped by to object to your insulting my school and classmates. I have my "harlotries", aka studies, to attend to.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Hi Anonymous,

Your objections aside, the truth is what it is.

What you describe is Bablylon, and such is the mother of all harlots and abominations. This is why there is such open acceptance of homosexuality at Berea College. If you have a problem with the terminology, then you need to take that up with the God whom you deny.

I am not the one who attributed these student's beliefs to the teachings of the college (although I wondered whether there was a connection). It is you who have spoken about the atheist indoctrination being peddled to those students - "for free"; which explains the tortured theology espoused by those in the video. As you say, we shall know them by their fruits.

God Himself is love. That which is rooted in a rejection of His truths is anything but love; even if it makes people feel good in their sin.

"If ye love me, keep my commandments...Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him." John 14:15, 23

"By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous." I John 5:2-3

We each must choose which path we will take, but there are only two (Matthew 7:13-14). I would suggest that each choose wisely.

"He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him." I John 2:4-5

  27. Latter Days,

I can see how the video you downloaded and then reloaded may give the impression that we are being harsh or antagonistic with the students I think this playlist from my YT channel should help clarify our outreach there:

    http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL9EE3B0A1E6CCDE0D&feature=mh_lolz

The video that wildcheer200 originally posted was chopped up to only show the reproofs we had for the students and then their lambasting how we should not be there 'protesting' Berea College.

John 7:7 ...the whole world hates Me because I testify of it that it's works are wicked.

  28. These are my brothers in Christ, two of the leaders of the ministry!

I often hear this objection also(Spirit led vs. flesh led) in preaching... even from Christians who do seem to actually know the Bible well, yet I have NEVER yet seen one person produce a video, clip or anything showing me the difference(between this ministry and others who claims it's not Spirit led).

Many try to claim we're not preaching right, or we're harsh, (list of unbiblical reasons)etc... but we're no Westboro Baptist that only preach on just the fear of God and only the damnation---we preach all we can of His counsel... we love people and spend our own money to travel to preach and spread Christ's true words and Gospel. Some claim a rebuke is wrong, but it's commanded!(2 Tim 4:2) Love has been redefined in this wicked culture, and today's Christians have accepted the unbiblical meaning. I know we're all going to answer to God for our intents in our thoughts, words and deeds--so we seek to always make them pure in conscience before Him.

I have another brother who preaches just the same as we do, yet even he has testified that he knows if he says something out of line while preaching(getting in the flesh)--he KNOWS the Spirit has left him for the moment and is no longer backing him until he's stepped aside to stop preaching and repented. I'm just harping on this spirit/flesh preaching issue... have yet to see the difference, but if it can be shown we will of course take correction. I know these two in the video well, and they have admitted to making faults while preaching before--it's a 7 year ministry, and the more you speak the more chance there is for error to arise... but also is the time for boldness and refining to take place in that time.

I still saw many comments above that claim this was not spirit led without Scripture to show it--and they claim due to the abrasiveness, I wonder what you would have said to Paul(Acts 13:6-12--rebuking and blinding the man who withstood the Gospel), Stephen(Acts 7:51-60---rebuking the Pharisees--remember these men were those who claim to know God/Jesus yet don't TRULY obey Him) or Jesus(John 3:16-21---yeah, the world loves John 3:16, no one reads the rest obviously)?

    Luke 6:
26 Woe to you when all men speak well of you,
For so did their fathers to the false prophets.

Matthew 5:11 “Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. 12 Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

Thank you for posting this and for your strong stand against false teachings/Gospels and your strong stand against sin Latter Days Ministry. It is a much appreciated thing in a world who is so lax against sin--I enjoyed reading your posts and your zeal and I am comforted by finding others who realize how important it is that it's all for Christ or nothing.

    May God bless you.

  29. Hi John,

Thank you much brother for taking time to add your perspective on this issue, especially if there was any misrepresentation in the video.

I often wonder if the criticism launched against this type of preaching has more to do with man's rejection of patriarchy than with how the word is preached. As my pastor would often say, the image of man has been so "Alan Alda-ized" that unless a man speaks softly and with no emotion, he is considered too aggressive or too harsh. Any man who speaks directly is seen as offensive.

The people in Jesus' day marveled that He taught "with authority", unlike the scribes. I wonder what that difference really sounded like?

Could it mean that He spoke without room for compromise so that it could be known beyond a doubt that what He was saying were the words of God and not men? Could it be that He didn't waver by claiming that other perspectives which differ from the word of God might be true, but boldly proclaimed, "This is way. Walk in it."? I believe we need more of that authority in the church.

May God strengthen your hand as you preach His word and fill you continually with His Spirit so that many may be saved by the power of God(I Cor. 2:4).

  30. Hi Sean,

Yes, I would certainly agree that we know when we have moved beyond the Spirit of God (or even stopped short of Him). Thank God that He allows His people to be so sensitive to His Spirit!

No one is perfect, and there may be times we all get in the flesh. But when such happens, do we have a heart to turn quickly in repentance as you suggest, or do we attempt to justify ourselves before God & men? That is the difference between one who loves the truth and one who does not.

Yes, "love" has been so perverted that one can barely preach the plain Gospel and be considered "loving". Even now, steps are continually being taken to criminalize the word of God, which is to be expected. However, any attempt to define love apart from the truths of God is deception.

May we never cease from proclaiming the good news due to perceived shortcomings in ourselves, but go forth boldly in the Lord, trusting Him to continue refining us. God will continue to complete His work in us as needed, but the preached word still needs to go forth.

    God Bless!

  31. Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; Who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; Who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes, And prudent in their own sight! Woe to men mighty at drinking wine, Woe to men valiant for mixing intoxicating drink, Who justify the wicked for a bribe, And take away justice from the righteous man! Therefore, as the fire devours the stubble, And the flame consumes the chaff, So their root will be as rottenness, And their blossom will ascend like dust; Because they have rejected the law of the LORD of hosts, And despised the word of the Holy One of Israel. Isaiah 5:20-24 Wow this is scary stuff. These hypocrite students don't realize it yet, but they are currently part of the great falling away mentioned in 2 Thessalonians 2:3. Unless they repent they will perish! It is the MERCY of God to even send them a preacher, but they are forsaking their own mercy. How sad.

  32. Latter Days,

Would you consider embedding my playlist alongside the other video to give it a fair chance of comparison to the other video? I would appreciate that as I think my link within my comments may just be lost to your blog viewer. That way anyone else that would comment may get a clearer picture of what happened that day. Forgive me I have not had the chance to go through these comments and respond yet. I hope to get to that this week. May the Lord bless you.

  34. "You can never lose your salvation"

I am not sure how this is false, if a person has truly repented and put their trust and faith in Christ then they are saved by His grace through faith in Him. By suggesting that one can lose their salvation you would be implying that a person is saved based on works. (Eph 2:8)

    1. Hi Crystal Hill,

Salvation is truly not of works, but such does require (continued) obedience as evidence of (abiding) love for and faith in God.

While too broad a topics I suppose to address in this comments section, The following articles may elaborate on what is meant there.

      Eternal Security

      May God Bless you Sister.

  35. But are you saying that the evidence is something the believer has to muster up or a result of the regenerating work of the Holy Spirit? I read some of your other stuff and it seems like you are advocating works-based righteousness. Could you explain or direct me to a specific post where you elaborate on this?

    1. Hi Crystal,

The "regenerating word of the Holy Spirit" must be yielded to. There is nothing man can muster or work up, We have no capacity within ourselves to be righteous. However, we must choose to submit to the Holy Spirit's work in our lives to walk in faith and grow in grace...and believe me, we can most assuredly resist the Spirit's work as well.

The list of articles I presented before go into these things in great detail. However, if you are asking for one in particular, I would suggest the following:

Working Out What the Spirit is Working In

    2. Oops! Of course I meant the "regenerating WORK of the Holy Spirit". Yet again, His "word" must be yielded to as well. :-)

    3. In a nutshell:

"And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him." Hebrews 5:9

Anyone who says we can be saved apart from obedience (made possible only by the Holy Spirit) is not speaking the truth.
