I Am A Pastor's Wife

OK, I am not really - although I have always believed that God was preparing me to be - but that is another story altogether.  LOL

I am actually speaking of another blog called "I Am Pastor's Wife" that I was introduced to this morning.  Linked below are some posts that address themes we have been dealing with lately:

Does Jesus Go To Church? - Jesus & Religion?

Horizontal Christianity - Time to grow up Church!

A Sinsual Seduction - Who is Jezebel?

Daylight Savings Time - It is time to save the lost and bring in the harvest!

Why Are We Silent & The Devil So Loud? - "Christian" music as a tool of the Gospel

Be Careful Who You Idolize - In light of MLK day  [SIDE NOTE: And don't get me started on MLK who was not a preacher of the Gospel of Jesus Christ at allWhen I wonder will we finally be ready to be free from Babylon?]

And finally, from her article on Wise and Foolish:

Foolish Virgins (examples):
  • Are on “fellowship cruises” with other “believers”, enjoying themselves and “letting their hair down a little”.
  • Are booking the hottest gospel artist to come and “minister” to the people.
  • Are holding “financial peace” seminars in God’s sanctuary instead of teaching .
  • Are “trying out” different ministries to see which one fits them best.
  • Are certain that there is more than one “way”, and won’t stop until they find it.
  • Dismiss Jesus’ own words outlined here: http://wp.me/p1wKvm-9n and believe that they can pinpoint the time.
  • Trust in horoscopes, tarot cards and false prophets even though they know the Word.
Wise Virgins (examples):
  • The “lunatic” on the corner telling people to “Repent for the Kingdom of God is at hand”.
  • The Pastor/Preacher who is teaching the full gospel of Jesus Christ.
  • The believer who is not swayed by every wind of doctrine.
  • Are evangelizing and spreading the Good News.

Feel free to peruse the site as I have this morning. I have found the posts insightful, biblical, and just plain real.  I pray that it edifies you and emboldens you more for the Lord.

  2. God bless you Latter Days for posting this link to my blog; I cannot tell you how encouraging it is when someone reads what the Lord has given me and responds to it. You all will be in my prayers that you continue in the vocation in which God has called you. I know that your ministry is blessed and sent from Jesus. Before you found my blog, God sent me to yours - and I thank Him for that! Love, your sister in Christ.

  3. What is wrong with MLK? Please is there any information or blog on this. I have Google the truth about MLK but some of them are from racists and some did not make since. I love your blog and may God continue to bless your ministry.

  4. Hi Anonymous,

It is true that people will often try to discredit things according to their demonic agendas (i.e. racism). And while social injustice is a plague in society, redressing such is not the Gospel.

This was one of the reasons why Israel could not receive Jesus. They were under Roman oppression and was looking for a deliverer who would remove that. Yet, the Kingdom of God is about our eternal condition, not our social state in this world. In fact, Jesus told us to expect inequity here because Satan is the god of this world.

I am not saying that we should not be just or seek justice. I am saying that man's condition and standing in this world has no bearing on our eternal state. Yet, MLK's entire "Gospel" was based on that; such is a mark of having found religion, but not having found God.

If you think about it, many "churches" have nothing to do with the preaching of the Gospel, and this is also true in the Black community. Instead, they focus on inspirational messages to help us get through the week, or political messages about the change we need in government, or how one day the wrongs done against us will be righted, or how to "get yours" in this world... The Gospel of the Kingdom is "Repent and believe, or be damned."

    * MLK did not believe that Jesus was the Son of God. He claimed that Jesus' followers only believed this because they came "under the spell" of His charismatic personality.

    * MLK believed that a virgin birth of Jesus was "impossible" and just a carry over from Greek mythology.

    * MLK did not believe that Jesus physically rose from the dead. Instead he claims that those captivated by his magnetic personality merely didn't want to believe He had died.

    * In fact, MLK believed that Christianity itself was only a reworking of pagan religious myths.

    * MLK did not believe that the Scriptures were the literal words of God. Instead, he believed that the truth & realities of man's existence could be found in the writings of various cultures & philosophies. In one of his later sermons he puts Christianity on par with Hinduism, Platonic philosophy, and Zoroastrianism...indicating that it doesn't matter "whatever you call it". But does it matter? Is Jesus the Truth, the Way, and the Life or just one of many truths, ways, and lives?

    * Like many churches today (and even like the "progressive" beliefs of President Obama), MLK merely used Christian principles when convenient in order to further his personal platform for social justice. He never preached nor believed the real Gospel of Jesus Christ. His "Gospel" was one of social justice learned from Ghandi and has nothing to do with Jesus Christ.

To see this, you don't have to rely on any one else's words but King's, in his own writings:

What Experiences of Christians Living in the Early Christian Century Led to the Christian Doctrines of the Divine Sonship of Jesus, the Virgin Birth, and the Bodily Resurrection?

    A Study of Mithraism

    I've Been to the Mountaintop

Peruse an inventory of MLK's writings and see exactly what he believed and what he taught in his sermons. He did not believe in Christianity nor did he preach it; he believed in a religion of social justice as taught to him by Ghandi.

  5. Latter Days Ministry, thank you so much for answering this inquiry regarding MLK Jr. Many people have been bewitched by his eloquence of speech, and his "sacrifice" without finding out his true theological background. He was antiChrist. Someone commented on the blog and I stated that if he were around today, he would most likely be aligned with some of the motivational speakers who are carrying the titles of Pastor/Bishop or even Pope. There is not much difference. People heard MLK "Mine eyes have seen the coming of the glory of the Lord", and automatically assume that he followed Christ. Well...

Matt. 7:22 - "Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?"

    God bless you!

  6. Thank you Latter Days and IamaPastorswife!! I have never read these words from MLK Jr before and it is very eye opening. I was always taught that he was a preacher and he preached the Gospel and died for Jesus and reading this, I now know the truth. I praise God for his truth and revelation. I read your article on Race Colored glasses and it is so true how people make their race an idol and being African American if I was to tell people about this it would be a huge argument, just like your article on Beyonce and how people were quick to defend her in spite of the fact that she lives her life contrary to God's word. Praise God for the truth and thank God that his word is truth and every man a lie. Be blessed and may God continue to bless and keep you in Jesus name.

  7. Thank you for the information about MLKs beliefs. I personally don't see the sense in idolizing a man the way people do on MLK day. Isn't it hypocritical for people who celebrate christmas to idolize a man on mlk day? That's my 2 cents.
