Receiving the Fire of the Holy Spirit

"But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren." Luke 22:32

We have talked about doing the works of the ministry, but in order to do that we need to be continually filled with the Holy Spirit.  Many are attempting to follow Christ, to live a Christian life, but are not availing themselves of the power of God: His Holy Spirit.  It is all just the flesh...or the workings of "another spirit" (II Corinthians 11:4). Now more than ever we need to seek God to be filled and for power to stand against the wickedness of the time in which we now live.

"But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth." Acts 1:8

Take a moment to listen to this message from brother Emmanuel K. on "Receiving the Fire of the Holy Spirit".

"For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call." Acts2:39

  1. The is ever so important for every christian, we must no longer just be into "Acting christianity" but "ACTIVE christianity" and this comes through the filling and re-filling of the Holy Spirit, POWER is what we need, POWER is the evidence. Amen and thank God for this. 1 Love, God bless

  2. Here in the UK there are vitually no churches that are sound. The sound ones that have reasonable doctrine, that take a stand about sin and keep the world out are usually of a OSAS and no gifts of the spirit or baptism of the spirit. I have tried virtually every church in the area. My current church is of the above doctrine (osas/no gifts etc) over and over they say 'the gifts are not for today, since the bible has come'. I don't believe it but what do I do, most of the other places are 'charismania' or just apostate.

    1. Hi Anonymous,

Keep in mind, the fellowship you attend is not the determinant of your relationship with God. Regardless of what they believe or teach, you can press in to the Lord yourself and receive all that He has for you. Every promise of God is available to you, simply because you are His child...and no one can take that away from you.

You also don't have to agree with everything a church teaches in order to be a productive member or be edified by it. If God has led you to there, then He has a reason for you being there but that doesn't mean their self-imposed limitations have to be your own.

Just pray and seek the Lord for His will to be done in your life, being willing to receive all that He has for you. Who knows? He could be looking to start a revival there through you? :-) Either way, seek God for yourself, making your calling and election sure. All else He will work out according to His good pleasure.

      God Bless!

    2. Hi Anonymous. There are some good churches out there in the midst of the ones in error (but no perfect church this side of heaven). I would echo what has already been said to you, that if God has led you there, He has a reason for you being there, and you are in a position to be actively praying for those leaders and fellow believers around you to become open to what God wants to do. I'm from a Pentecostal church background yet I mix happily with those from non-charismatic backgrounds as we focus on Christ, yet I pray for them to be baptised with the Holy Spirit. I used to work in ministry with a leader who had left the Pentecostal church and somehow became an anti-charismatic Calvinist, which is a huge deception, but God simply wanted me to pray for him, and still work with him. God also wants us to learn from eachother, as we each have different strengths and weaknesses, and different levels of understanding. I have learned from those who are more 'Word-based' even whilst hoping they become more Holy Spirit led. Peace be with us all in Christ.
