Will You Now Stop At Only Words?

I happened to see yesterday a portion of the movie, "The Patriot" for the first time.  One scene in particular really struck me.

A young man enters a church, issuing a call for men to join the Militia...and he is greeted with silence.  The men were hesitatnt to join the movement because outside of the church were the bodies of men whom British soldiers had hung from a tree for their treason in fighting against Britain.  Such is a clear sign to all of the fate which might befall those who decided to enlist in this fight.  Therefore, the men were immobilized.

In the midst of this, a young woman stands and reminds the men how they have all spent hours talking about their desire for freedom.  She asks them, "Will you now stop at only words?"

Such is a great question for the men in the Body of Christ at this hour.  Satan has run roughshod over billions.  He has perverted many with his educational, entertainment, government, financial, and religious systems.  He has killed indiscriminately and without mercy.  He has stolen and destroyed the futures of innocents.  So I ask, "Will you now stop at only words?"

Just think of how he has sought to destroy you,  your family, and your friends.  How he has attempted to limit and oppress you, using spiritual strongmen to try and thwart your advances in the Lord.  How he has tried to bind you and keep you enslaved to his evil kingdom.  "Will you now stop at only words?"

I am not speaking to those who are religious.   There are many hirelings who falsely proclaim to belong to the Lord, yet their real objective is to make their lives more comfortable in this world.  How do you know?  That is all they talk about; their mind stays on "earthly things" (James 3:15; Jude 1:18-19).  They couldn't care less about Jesus Christ, the word of God, or the spiritual war He is fighting.

"Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an ensemble. (For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.) For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself." Philippians 3:18-21

The difference between those who truly represent the Lord and these enemies of the cross is the focus of their lives.  Is it centered in Christ in the Heavenlies or are they focused on things of this world?  Why are they enemies of the cross?  Because they have not crucified the old man.  They have not taken up their cross and therefore - as Jesus says Himself - they are not His disciples (Luke 14:27).

Don't be fooled by the frivolous titles they append to their names or the empty words of faith they proclaim.  Don't be drawn into pseudo-wars by cowards trying to get you to focus on the here and now instead of the things of God (Colossians 3:2).

"No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier."  II Timothy 2:4

For those who truly are the Lord's, now is a time for action.  Do not stop seeking Christ and preaching Christ until the Lord endues you with power from on high.

As the young woman states, "Will you now, when you are needed most, stop at only words?  Is that the kind of men you are?"  God forbid.
