However, I was glad that God opened my eyes after coming to him to see what a perversion of Christianity this is. We need more knowledge of this and other occult themes as it becomes more common in entertainment.Margaret Nahmiashttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08960468465926247588noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-793573695603056525.post-81126024645156612872013-07-19T19:39:56.116-04:002013-07-19T19:39:56.116-04:00Watching videos that warned against this stuff had...Watching videos that warned against this stuff had a strange effect on me.Margaret Nahmiashttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08960468465926247588noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-793573695603056525.post-49762861780124722132013-07-19T19:38:06.705-04:002013-07-19T19:38:06.705-04:00This comment has been removed by the author.Margaret Nahmiashttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08960468465926247588noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-793573695603056525.post-32661503474255792792012-11-06T17:35:17.686-05:002012-11-06T17:35:17.686-05:00Hello Erin,

However, to answer your question, "Don't people who eat non-kosher meat ingest animal blood?" This is true if they eat raw meat. However, roasting or broiling meat and even soaking it in a brine (which many do for tenderization) removes the blood in meat.

The point remains however, that God forbids the ingestion of animal blood.

"For it seemed good to the Holy Ghost, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things; That ye abstain from meats offered to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication: from which if ye keep yourselves, ye shall do well. Fare ye well." Acts 15:28-29

The standard for righteousness is not what people do, but what God decrees.
Latter Days Ministryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15405696673350225699noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-793573695603056525.post-37998147204307856582010-07-18T19:07:03.500-04:002010-07-18T19:07:03.500-04:00Some things may appear harmless but in the long ru...Some things may appear harmless but in the long run they can do damage, take it from me, i thought that reading these book was harmless and that because i was a born again christian i was safe from these things, but let me tell you that being exposed to these things can do things to you that you can't explain. It's evil and a though you may not see it now, later on in your life you will see what damage these things do to you. Pray to get out of the exposure of these types of books or movies, nothing good comes out of them.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-793573695603056525.post-12949103385778843202010-07-06T15:23:47.116-04:002010-07-06T15:23:47.116-04:00Oh Im glad someone pointed this out. I understand your points. What I am ab...Hi Chika,

I understand your points. What I am about to say is not to you specifically, but for others who may read this.

God knows best. If He tells us to stay away from things He calls evil it is because He knows that such things affect us long before we see physical manifestations of that impact.

Even in the situation suggested with Harry Potter, such children start thinking about spells and witchcraft long before they start outwardly trying to do it.

And long before they start actively considering it, it works on their thinking processes to get them to see such things as acceptable.

And long before they deem it acceptable, it works on them to entice them into being interested in it.

And long before they are interested in it, it works to get them to see it as desirable.

Etc.

God tells us that we do not even know our own hearts. I would caution anyone not to use a barometer of what they feel affects them as the determinant for what they engage in. The word of God must be our guide.

Thanks Again Chika for your comments!Latter Days Ministryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15405696673350225699noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-793573695603056525.post-37195294997229344422009-11-08T08:03:58.227-05:002009-11-08T08:03:58.227-05:00I am not associating a vampire who chooses not to ...I am not associating a vampire who chooses not to eat people, or what ever - to something good, but that's the world of imagination. People can write about the world exploding in a book and it wouldn't matter, because it is simply fiction. When it comes to the point where people start practicing these things, then there needs to be a drawn line.

I am not going to defent twilight in any way, but all I am saying is that so long as it does not affect you, it shouldn't be a problem for you to read them.

I have seen young children reading the harry potter books and going absolutely bonkers, trying to cast spells on people and so on, and that is where I would draw the line. But when people say that twilight causes young girls to want to lose their virginity? Come on. Although I cannot speak for the whole generation of teens, I can speak for myself. As far as I'm concerned, I'm still a virgin, and in no way whatsoever has reading the books made me reconsider my being a virgin.

Reading the Twilight saga has not made me change my mind about God or started questioning him, I have not engaged in any form of occultism and I still believe truly and fully in God.

I really don't want to discuss more on the subject as it is taking us nowhere.

Next thing you know, someone is going to step out and say that Tokio Hotel, a band I really like - is evil.

But thanks for postingChikahttp://www.stillawake4u.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-793573695603056525.post-58721075889247967092009-10-08T17:38:34.091-04:002009-10-08T17:38:34.091-04:00Thanks for writing this also :D I think ppl really...Thanks for writing this also :D I think ppl really need to be careful of what they say they "love" because it can turn into Idolatry. I'm not a prude, but MOST of these mainstream films and music have some sort of 'hidden' sinister messages to it.

I mean after I read, my opinion is that if you want to view films such as Twilight or the Harry Potter books, go head but never try to compare a 'fiction' series with the Word of God. Just enjoy it for the entertainment value. I personally do not watch these films and don't really watch TV, it is imparative to view these things with an open mind. I know its for all ages but I think Twilight and the such are for young people (my opinion)

Its real ironic that people will defend secular themes to the fullest, yet will not see what GOD has to say about it. The truth hurts sometimes I guess.

I'm also watching/reading the Education series you have up also :D

-thehoustongirlAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-793573695603056525.post-20997670874251007662009-10-08T16:57:31.996-04:002009-10-08T16:57:31.996-04:00Hi Wayne,
