I Am a Free Thinker

We are a staunch proponent of people's rights to believe what they will. You could claim that Mickey Mouse is God, and while we will explain why this is false, we will hold fast to your right to believe it.

That said, we have been getting a number of comments from people who consider themselves to be "free thinkers". They go on to explain how we have been deceived by "the illumanti", "the white man", "the demons", "our own insecurities" "religion", etc. (take your pick) into believing that Jesus Christ is God. Apparently, we have the ability to discern truth in certain areas, but remain blinded by this whole Christianity thing.

Far be it for me to stand in the way of someone's God-given right to choose their own path in life. Neither is it my responsibility to "prove" who God is. God reveals Himself to whom He chooses based on their desire for Truth (Matthew 5:6). But I will take a moment to examine this concept of being a free thinker, because I have not found such persons to really be free at all.

A Fall or An Unveiling?

Haggard - Wasted, Pallid, Ghastly

Haggard: not tamed; wild in appearance, having a worn or emaciated appearance. Synonyms - wasted, pallid, ghastly

Wasted: Laid waste, ravaged; unprofitably used, made, or expended; intoxicated from drugs or alcohol

Pallid: Spiritless; lacking signs of life

Ghastly: Having a death-like quality; resembling a ghost ; shockingly frightful or dreadful

I often find the ironies in life interesting. One example of this is the name of the pruported evangelical pastor Ted Haggard (believe me, I almost choke in even typing this title). It is sort of like Creflo having the last name "Dollar". Who says God doesn't have a sense of humor?

Well, the truth is that there is not one thing funny about this situation with Haggard. He has admitted to some extremely shameful and destructive acts while practicing his ministry. However, what is even more disturbing is how the "church" had lifted this man up to a place of leadership, prominence, and pastoring.

"And there came one of the seven angels which had the seven vials, and talked with me, saying unto me, Come hither; I will shew unto thee the judgment of the great whore that sitteth upon many waters: With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication. So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns." Revelation 17:1-3

In Revelation, John receives an angelic vision about the end time judgment of the great whore who is seen riding a red-colored beast. It is widely understood that the whore and beast symbolize the harlot church and world governmental systems respectively. Yet there is also a spiritual significance that gives us insight into the condition of man in these end times.

In the beginning and on the sixth day, God created man and set Adam to have dominion over the earth under the leadership of God's Spirit. Eve (Chavvah, meaning life) was created to be a help unto Adam; a life giver both in the sense of her nurturing nature as well as in a literal sense in bringing forth life into the earth.

We know that Eve was eventually deceived by Satan and that she brought Adam into this deception as well. What was the crux of Satan's persuasion? You shall be a god, knowing good and evil for yourselves. They could do away with God and be the master of their own domains; deciding for themselves their own destiny and morality. 

Getting Crunk for Christ

Well, this is certainly good news for the church. All across the United States, our young people are giving Glory to the Most High as they "Crunk" it up for Christ. In fact, many churches have set-up Christian Youth "Crunk" Ministries to encourage our children in this awesome move of God. If you haven't seen it, then you sure have missed out as our young people's bodies twitch, convulse, and jerk to music. It is like watching a Holy Spirit-inspired Epileptic fit!

A few of these insane asylums....oops, I mean "churches" have the following to say:

"Crunk 4 Christ is to have an uncontrollable enthusiastic praise for Christ that demands a response of his power and Glory. Crunk 4 Christ (known as C4C) is a youth outreach project...[it] serves as a venue for unconventional methods of praise and worship promoted by Youth and Young Adults. "

Even Catholics are getting Crunk, "Speaking to a radio audience every Monday on Q100-FM, he [Father Ricardo Bailey] is known as Father Crunk, a play on the urban term for high energy hip-hop and high-energy people. “Do you have any idea what ‘revive’ means?” he asked the audience. “Revive, my dear friends in Christ, … means get crunk with Jesus.”"\

The Fire House's (appropriately named) dance ministry mission is, "To Preach the Gospel through DANCE and Win Souls to Christ. Also, mentor the youth and let them know you can still get crunk and dance for the LORD."

Can we still get crunk and dance for the Lord? Does the Bible indicate that we can offer whatever we want to the Lord and He will just accept it?

A Day of Celebration

The United States of America is about to inaugurate someone with African-American roots to the highest office in the land. It is at once remarkable and sad; remarkable because this is a first for the nation...and sad because this is a first for the nation.

A DAY OF CELEBRATION FOR AFRICAN-AMERICANS
Minorities watched this election with renewed interest and feelings of inclusion. For the first time, they could see a leader whose family resembled their own. Who can deny that African-Americans are continuing to break racial stereotypes and rebound from cultural genocides brought about by the inhumanity of slavery and the ideas of privilege which have had generational repercussions?

A DAY OF CELEBRATION FOR DEMOCRATS
The Democrats have successfully ended years of Republican domination, not only in the presidency, but in Congress. Obama helped to invigorate the Democratic party...especially amongst young voters. The Democratic Party is being reborn under a leadership that will bring about social change and reform.

A DAY OF CELEBRATION FOR AMERICA
Many were inspired by Obama's oratory, intelligence, and charisma. The Obamas are a beautiful family confirming the realities of the American Dream for many: everyone has the opportunity to achieve if they work for it. Even Obama's Administration brings to life our melting pot as men, women, Democrats, Republicans, Blacks, Asians, etc. put differences aside for the betterment of the country.

A DAY OF CELEBRATION FOR THE WORLD
Finally an international man with American, African, German, Indonesian, Muslim, Buddhist, and Christian roots, operating outside of the Caucasian, privileged, and paternalistic mindset of most American leadership. People around the world cheered and even enemies of this country are all stepping forward to proclaim how willing they are to work with Obama.

A DAY OF CELEBRATION FOR CHRISTIANS?
Is this a day of celebration for Christians? Given the change that this country needed and the fact that Obama will be our first Black president, why would any Christian NOT support Obama? And isn't Obama a Christian too?

Beyonce has recently announced that she wants to be called Sasha Fierce. Fittingly, the name of her new album is, "I Am...Sasha Fierce". "So what?", you may ask, "That is just her stage name, all the stars do that." IS it just a stage name? Let's see what Beyonce has to say about it. [emphasis added by me]
