Babylon is Falling

Two years in a row (2007 & 2008) the reigning Miss USA
fell down on the world stage at the Miss Universe pageants.
"And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird." Revelation 18:2

I was told yesterday to be hopeful because "The economy is recovering."  About a year ago, a family member told me, "The economy will bounce back.  It always does."

I have to wonder how many people are living each day thinking (even subconsciously) that life is just going to continue as we expect each day.  Do even Christians understand that, at some point, all of this will end and be judged by God?

When discussing the end times with a professing Christian a year ago and speaking of how the signs in which we live seem to indicate that time is short, they responded, "Well, I just believe that God is a God of love & mercy and I am praying that He won't do that."  To this, I was perplexed.  Do people not understand that the same loving & merciful God is the very one who states that He will bring this age to an end?  We cannot live in "la la" land about God and what He says that He will do. God is not at our beck & call so that He may accomplish our wills, but He is working to bring about His own will.

This world is full of illusions, smoke & mirrors, and we cannot afford to have this attitude in the Church.  Let's determine to be sober-minded and spirit-filled as the days are wickedly evil and the deceptions many.

The following article is an excerpt from the Parables Blog which evaluates the economic deceptions being spun in the media today.

fActs of Deception
by Joseph Herrin

Satan delights equally in statistics and in quoting scripture....
H.G. Wells, The Undying Fire

I have a growing sense that calamity is at the door of America, but you would not know it from the reports of the mainstream media. Of late I have been led to consider numerous signs in the earth, including the Costa Concordia disaster, the sudden fall from the pinnacle of success by Joe Paterno (and the two giant sequoias in California), the construction of One World Trade Center, and the parables contained in Super Bowl XLVI  and its Half-Time show. Added to this mix has been a contemplation of what is signified by the fact that 2012 is the Year of the Water Dragon, for the image of such a creature is found described in the 12th chapter of the book of Revelation.

Revelation 12:13, 16
Now when the dragon saw that he had been cast to the earth, he persecuted the woman who gave birth to the male child...  The serpent spewed water out of his mouth like a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away by the flood.

As the post on titled Drowning in Deception) points out, the image of the dragon pouring forth a flood of water from his mouth is a metaphor for Satan flooding the earth with lies and deception. At this time, this flood is intended to keep mankind (and particularly Christians) lulled into a false sense of peace and security while Satan sets in order all that is required for a violent establishment of his rule over mankind as Babylon is once more formed in the earth.

Christians have for too long been distracted by a pursuit of the world and the things in it. They have bought into the lie that it is God’s desire for them to be successful in a worldly sense, having an abundance of material possessions, ease, prosperity and entertainments. They have rejected the lives of Christ and the apostles as a pattern for their lives, having embraced the image portrayed today by the slick preacher who is a promoter of prosperity. Yet Christ declared that His life was a pattern that His disciples were to follow.

Luke 6:40
A disciple is not above his teacher, but everyone who is perfectly trained will be like his teacher.

To those who would be His disciples Yahshua said:

Matthew 19:21
If you want to be perfect, go, sell what you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.

Luke 14:33
So then, none of you can be My disciple who does not give up all his own possessions.

Matthew 8:20
Foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay His head.

The sum of these words of Christ, and many more besides, reveal that those who are to follow Him as His disciples are to take their minds off of the world and the things in it, that their focus might be upon apprehending the will of Yahweh and doing it. Satan has worked tirelessly to get Christians focused on worldly things, for then they are no threat to his kingdom. He has had great success, and this has been to the detriment of Christians everywhere, for in pursuing the things of the world they have estranged themselves from God the Father.

James 4:4
Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.

I John 2:15-17
Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world - the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life - is not of the Father but is of the world. And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.

Although Satan is the architect behind the coming collapse of the world’s financial, political, and religious systems, Yahweh will use the resulting turmoil and destruction to purify a remnant of His people. What Satan intends for evil, Yahweh will use for good. God has ever done so. This was the testimony of Joseph in the first book of the Bible.

Genesis 50:20
But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive.

It is my desire in writing of current events to make known to Christians the day they are living in. It is Yahweh’s desire that His people remain alert and perceptive to the times. He would have us know that the return of His Son is near, and to anticipate those events that must precede His appearing.

  1. The problem is we are all under Pharaoh's whip. Forced to go to work to provide for our families. I know a brother who has to work 12-16 hours a day on a sales route. Another brother was working at Sears 80 hours a week (if thats conceivable) We need help from God himself NOW!!

  2. God has been showing my wife and I from Psalms 12 and Psalms 72 that "for the oppression of the poor, for the sighing of the needy, now shall I arise" and "He will break in pieces the oppressor"

The babylon world business and religious system is a huge oppressor, and God is coming to CRUSH it. Soon deliverance will come, but not to prop up the system. To destroy the system and set up Jesus's ownership and management of the earth.

  3. Everyone I work around thinks the economy is going to bounce back as always and sometimes I ask them what if it doesn't, they usually just keep hoping that it will be back and better than ever. They are prime and ready to be let down severely at the same time ready for the gospel and deception.
