In my fight with sin, the study of the Father is something I've added to get a better grasp of who he really is.

Also, I'd like to add one more scripture that pretty much shatters this misunderstanding of grace. Its my favorite one:

Titus 2:11-12 NIV

"For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age..."

Grace is the allotted time by which we are taught to say NO to sin and to learn to live upright. Anyone claiming to be walking in grace and not saying NO to sin, has got grace all wrong.Nealrealhttp://letspleasegod.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-793573695603056525.post-71882705576105737002012-01-21T11:39:25.886-05:002012-01-21T11:39:25.886-05:00Hello SPeek,
I really have no idea what you are s...Hello SPeek,

I really have no idea what you are speaking of. You speak of being "religious" yet your entire comment is filled with religiousness.

What I mean by that is one can say anything they want and it might sound good, but without Scriptural evidence it is just the mind and wisdom of men (I Cor. 3:19; James 3:15). People speak a lot of terms about love, truth, faith, God...but unless you know exactly what they mean by these terms, then you could be placing yourself in agreement with a lie. That is what many have done with this "hating religion" video.

Jesus' work is certainly finished (John 19:30), but ours is not.

"Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling." Philippians 2:12

Consider this.

How does a Christian fail of the grace of God and become defiled (Hebrews 12:15-17)?

How does a Christian do despite to the spirit of grace and thereby receive eternal punishment (Hebrews 10:29)?

How is it that the grace of God can be turned into lasciviousness by ungodly men (Jude 1:4)?

How is it that a Christian can grieve the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 4:30)?

Many Christians need a BIBLICAL understanding of grace because it is not the sugar candy cover for sin that lots of Christians want to say it is so that they don't have to turn from sin.

You are welcome to come here and share your thoughts, even if they differ from what is posted. But you need to come with more than just inspirational chitter-chatter and name-calling if you want to be taken seriously. This blog is for those who are serious about serving the Lord and getting to know Him more. If your intentions are otherwise, then please visit elsewhere. Not trying to offend, just keeping it real.

"For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries. He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses: Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace? One more thing. I'll just say that ...Hi Neal,

One more thing. I'll just say that the more I live in these days, the more obvious it becomes that fatherlessness is the root of all spiritual ills.

God gives us the family to help us understand better how to relate to Him (Ephesians 5:32). When that image of a father & a husband is perverted, it makes it all that much harder to understand truly who God is (rather than who we claim Him to be).

It is no wonder why matriarchy is on the rise in world government, people in the church are appointing women into unbiblical roles of leadership, lesbianism is more rampant, and the image of man is mocked in general throughout the media.

Is it not amazing that being restored to God restores to us the image of a Father & a Husband? One must be willingly blind not to understand how respecting God's patriarchy - His role as a Father in telling us what to do, holding us responsible for our actions, and correcting us when necessary - is the evidence of our love for Him.

I was contacted this week by a young Christian seeking to understand the difference between Jesus & the Father. One thing which is interesting is that people "come to Jesus" and act like that is it. Yet Jesus' goal was to point us to and reconcile us with the Father. Even at the end, Jesus will take all that He has been given and give it back to the Father (I Corinthians 15:23-28).

It broke my heart to hear this young man speaking of how he still suffered because of a lack of relationship with his father. All of our problems boil down to not understanding or respecting Fatherhood. If we know God as our Father, then we will know that He loves us. If we know God as our Father, then we will know that He wants the best for us. If we know God as our Father, then we will know that He will provide for us, etc.

My children do not worry about a thing because they know they can depend on their Dad. If he says something, then he will do it. One day, my daughter was at school late, waiting to be picked up and a friend asked, "Do you want us to give you a ride home?" She replied, "No thanks. My Dad said he will pick me up." That really touched my heart and I prayed to have such faith in God; to know that He will be there for me as my Father even when circumstances try to tell me otherwise.

Anyway, now I am rambling. :-)Latter Days Ministryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15405696673350225699noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-793573695603056525.post-76421235511198232632012-01-21T11:06:52.838-05:002012-01-21T11:06:52.838-05:00Either Jesus work is a finished work or it is not....Either Jesus work is a finished work or it is not. Grace is what keeps love alive and well. His message is one of truth , faith and love. It is about the goodness of God...He created everything GOOD and when he made man he said it was VERY GOOD. A religious spirit cannot see, hear or understand what the Spirit of God is saying to His sons and daughters, calling them to Oneness with the Father and the Son.SPeekhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07220990157034611887noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-793573695603056525.post-78374299476082609662012-01-21T10:05:55.313-05:002012-01-21T10:05:55.313-05:00Hi Octavia,

All I could think is that the devil is so slick.

There are elements of truth in what he says, but there is much deceit as well.

Of course God doesn't stop loving us because we sin. Yet, that is a far cry from Him smiling lovingly down on us and claiming us in Fatherly pride in the moments of our sin. God's love is does not mean that we should take sin lightly or claim it doesn't matter. If we do, the issue is that we do not love Him as we should.

Our sin grieves God. It grieves the Holy Spirit. If we are not sensitive to that grieving then our consciences are seared and we had better pray for God to circumcise our hearts again.Latter Days Ministryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15405696673350225699noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-793573695603056525.post-53119052306007013912012-01-21T00:45:10.509-05:002012-01-21T00:45:10.509-05:00Uhhh ohhh. I too had amen-ed his video, but this obviously shows the true spirit behind the popular video.

As I listened to his testimony I just kept hearing all my former church buddies and pastors in his voice.

That video is so deceptive and he is so deceived, and deceiving others. That bothers me.

This doctrine that turns grace into lasciviousness is so foul, but like the Word says, "for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie..."

smh.Nealrealhttp://letspleasegod.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-793573695603056525.post-80785159107552658332012-01-20T14:05:03.678-05:002012-01-20T14:05:03.678-05:00Okay I just watched the testimony video. Towards the end when he started talking about 1 John, he didn't address the numerous other scriptures which talk about men confessing and "forsaking" their sins...then we find God's mercy. I think what he is saying here is dangerous. One could easily take him to be saying we can sin and it doesn't matter because Christ knew beforehand what we would do and said it is paid for. What about the scriptures admonishing us in Ephesians, Romans, Peter, 1 John, Colossians, etc telling us to forsake the deeds of the sinful nature? We have to be careful what we say.Jasminehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00676157813656862967noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-793573695603056525.post-10169527112050732452012-01-20T13:48:56.696-05:002012-01-20T13:48:56.696-05:00Hi Jasmine,

Neither can we work up righteousness or work off sin. I really didn't have a problem with what he says in that video.

Yet, when people speak of "hating religion" they can often mean very different things. This is what made the video above so interesting because he explains in his own words why he made the video against religion. But what he describes above is not religion at all.

Yes, we need to take heed for how we hear and we also need to test the spirits to see if they be of God. The right things can be said, but if it is the wrong spirit, it is still in error.Latter Days Ministryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15405696673350225699noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-793573695603056525.post-45294325381768366212012-01-20T13:42:33.996-05:002012-01-20T13:42:33.996-05:00Hmm yes, people have been "amening" this...Hmm yes, people have been "amening" this video very much. From a Christian standpoint I could see where he may of been coming from, that we are no longer saved by works but true saving faith is not absent of good works. However, you put his video in a different light and I didnt see it that way, nor have I seen the video of him explaining why he made the video. This is why we have to take heed how we hear.Jasminehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00676157813656862967noreply@blogger.com
