If you and your husband are concerned about your current church, then it may be appropriate to fast and pray together to seek God for direction.

There is something to be said for growing together as a Body of believers, tolerating in love each others weaknesses, and learning to intercede for each other instead of just severing relationships...as long as people are sincerely seeking the Lord. If so, then God will change our hearts and continue to perfect us.

That does not mean that we should stay in a fellowship which is going into error. Maybe the Lord would have your husband to raise his concerns to the elders? Maybe He would lead you into intercession for the church? Maybe He would tell you to leave and even start your own local bible study? Only God knows the right answer there, so seek Him and I am sure He will move upon your hearts with what He wants you to do.

I will say however, don't be discouraged! God can work just as mightily in small towns/congregations as in larger ones. :-) You can trust Him. He will not lead you astray nor will He let you just walk off into error.

God Bless You!Latter Days Ministryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15405696673350225699noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-793573695603056525.post-14922916734357965172012-07-18T18:40:28.130-04:002012-07-18T18:40:28.130-04:00Dear Latterdays,
My husband and I attend a church...Dear Latterdays,

My husband and I attend a church in a small town and recently our church has become a foursquare church and within the last 2 years we've seen marriages collapse and families under attack by Satan. My husband believes that it has to do with the church's new affiliation with the foursquare church because we noticed a sift in the messages that are being preached to a more prosperity gospel and if your pastors sin don't leave the church but stay and pray for them type message. We did a little digging into the foursquare church and we found a wikipedia article about the woman who founded the foursquare church that she had possible extramarital affairs and deception about certain events that she claimed happened in her life but since it's from wikipedia we know that everything in wikipedia is not true. My husband it's a former Catholic and he doesn't want to be under a ministry involved with deception. Could you help us, my husband loves your articles and thank God for your honesty from the Holy Spirit, we are new to the faith and desire God and accurate ministry and please help us. Thank-you for be a blessing. May God bless and keep you in Jesus name Amen.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-793573695603056525.post-47869985138543459102012-07-18T09:23:14.115-04:002012-07-18T09:23:14.115-04:00Amen sis!! I am very thankful for this article! My...Amen sis!! I am very thankful for this article! My mother and I were discussing being HONEST before the Lord and how when we are, God honors us and delivers us!!

I was reading a story about a pastor out in California who has been accused of having a relationship with a 14 year old girl. He has been in the relationship for two years, so since she was 12. Now I have a problem with that simply because the bible says: "For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him?" Now to me this is telling me that I have no excuse before God about what's inside of me. I know full well what lies within and so does every human being.

I say that to say this pastor knew he had a spirit of lust and even a perverted spirit because he likes children. He knew that, but pride would not let him confess that before the Lord and so he ends up in total HUMILIATION before everyone, including his wife and family. God allows time for us to repent and to tell Him what we are dealing with and He doesn't embarass us and tell us that we must tell everybody, He just wants us to tell Him. I am so grateful for that because I have dealt with some hard things before the Lord and am so thankful that He allowed me to handle it with Him before I was humiliated or before I brought reproach to His name!! Honesty and repentance goes a long way with God! He will deliver you from all uncleanness when you are honest and desire to turn away from it! I am a witness to that!! Much Love!!Stephaniehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02262940185840758258noreply@blogger.com
