The Seventh Day Apostasy

"We believe the revelation and inspiration of both the Bible and Ellen White's writings to be of equal quality." SDA Ministry Magazine
People often contact me asking about the Seventh Day Adventist organization (SDA).  Likewise, people in line with SDA beliefs often link to this site based in part on our article "Sunday, the Mark of the Beast" which they falsely assume supports the necessity of a Sabbath day of worship for believers.

As a young believer, I even attended an SDA bible study, although I had no idea that is was tied to SDA.  This was due in part to the fact that it was not promoted as such.  I have found that SDA materials and seminars often obscure the fact that they are disseminated by the SDA.  While I cannot speak as to why this is done, I have seen it being a source of confusion for others and thought it best to address it.  As with any deception, that which works best is that which incorporates some truth in with the lies.

The purpose of this article is not to speak about the relationship of the law to a believer.  We have done that many times before.  This article aims to provide information on where the SDA organization comes from and whether their teachings line up with the word of God.

The following video series "Seventh Day Adventism: The Spirit Behind the Church" discusses the life of Ellen G. White and the root & evolution of her spurious teachings and false prophecies.  Such teachings include that Christ's atonement for sin was incomplete, That Jesus Christ is Michael the Archangel, and that there is no hell.  The Jehovah's Witness is but one splinter group stemming from these false SDA teachings, including its own "inspired" versions of Scriptures.

The next video series "The Seventh Day Abomination (The SDA Mystery Babylon Connection)" shows how Ellen G. White's teachings were founded on the work of Freemason William Miller. It also connects these Millerite teachings back to their roots in freemasonry and Egyptian occult worship.

Egyptian pyramids were created to mirror the belt of Orion in astrology, which they believed to be the home of God. Ellen White makes various references in her writings to God being the "All-seeing eye" and God's home being in Orion. This is a continued theme in SDA teachings even today.

SDA also is at the forefront of the ecumenical movement to bring the world religions together under an Age of Aquarius "Rule of Law" as part of the new world order. The video shows how disunity between the SDA and the Roman Catholic Church is only a cunningly devised farce which will become more revealed as the two work closely together to bring about the ecumenical objectives.

**Potential Posters:  You are welcome to post comments here, but please ensure they are relevant to the content of this article.  As such, actually watching the videos before commenting is suggested.  This is not a platform for SDA members to proselytize or to explain why they love the SDA institution.  Nor is this a place to argue about the believer's relationship with the law.  If you have questions about the law, please review one of the blog's many articles on this topic and post any appropriate comments there.  Lastly, all assertions of truth should be accompanied with some Scriptural evidence.  The purpose here is not to serve as an ecumenical forum where everyone just shares their opinions, but to facilitate an honest search & study for the truths of God based on His holy word.  Comments not meeting these criteria may not be approved.  Feel free to peruse existing comments as well, for your questions may already be addressed.

  1. I was almost deceived by the SDA via this very hardcore guy on youtube that goes by the username forerunner777. He's very knowledgeable about the bible and can probably quote the bible forwards and backwards. This excited me as I was just getting into the word and was very hungry for anything that had the name Jesus attached to it. I then began to look up this guy and found out he promotes Ellen G. White books and he's talking about worshipping on the sabbath, the whole "Sunday Law", being under the law and everything else the SDA cult teaches. I thank the Lord that He opened my eyes to this deception. This guy is very dangerous because he starts out with biblical truth then he sneaks in this false doctrine usually near the end of his videos. I pray that others will wake up and not be deceived by him or the SDA cult in general.
Keep bringing the truth sis and continue to keep me in your prayers. God Bless!

    1. I can agree with you on EG White, but I don't see why SDAs are wrong in wanting to worship on Saturday instead of Sunday. Jesus did the same, so why would it be so bad if we do the same? There are actually a lot of denominations that worship on Saturday, the original Sabbath vs Sunday. There's nothing deceptive in that! There's a lot of sincere and intelligent SDAs, take for example Neal Nedley, M.D. who is a leading physician. I think most of the SDAs that experience awareness shy away from medieval superstitions that once hampered the new settlers in the 18 and 19th centuries. We have to admit that although EG White didn't do as she preached, she did started a health reform that has contributed to SDAs being one of the healthiest denominations. So, let me also correct you in one other point. Many denominations teach unbiblical things like everlasting hell fire and when you die you go straight to hell or straight to heaven (both unbiblical) yet, we do not call them "cults". So why exactly you want to call SDA a cult when I can give you at least 10 denominations of Christians that are a lot more "cultish" than perhaps one of the more advanced denominations that have done a lot more scientific and health contribution to the US than most of the denominations that you probably are at peace with? Better go do some research before you start calling others names and all!

    2. Hello Anonymous,

To answer your question, there is nothing wrong with a person who chooses to fellowship with the saints on a Saturday. However, if you believe that such is commanded by God then there is much wrong.

The SDA organization is a cult. This is not an indictment against the individual adherents but rather the many false doctrines which undergird it.

The SDA is simply part of religious Babylon. Does God have some of His people in Babylon? Yes, or else He wouldn't say, "Come out of her my people lest you become partaker of her plagues." (Rev 18:4) And such would be my only advise for those in SDA. Come out of her and give your life wholly to Christ.

You also cannot pick and choose what is convenient. Either make the tree good or corrupt (Matt. 12:33). Ellen White preached unbiblical doctrines and made many false prophecies. Surely you are not contending that some measure of health realized in this world makes up for that or has any eternal value? Further, if anyone is to be credited it is God and not Ellen White as He is the one who gave the dietary laws.

Jesus Christ did not die to bring about health reform. God's kingdom is not of this world, so the attempt to identify His kingdom based on the things of this world will always lead to error. That is one of the signs of Babylon: it tries to get you focused on what is beneath instead of what is above (Col. 3:2).

The standard of truth is not what people do or think, neither is it the intelligence of man nor the things which happen in this world. The standard of truth is the word of God. That is where you need to measure any doctrine you believe, with the whole counsel of God. When you compare SDA's doctrine with Scripture (not with other denominations or the mind of man) then its falsehoods are glaringly apparent.

As you state, there are many groups in Babylon. The SDA is not alone, but it is part of that entire works-based system of salvation which has no power to save anyone.

      Thanks for your comments.

    3. The Bible itself preaches that those who know truth, will preach against it. The Sabbath was given to Adam and Eve at Eden. The first story of creation talks about how God rested. In Genesis it talks about how Abraham kept God's commandments. If God's commandments (the Sabbath) were only given to the Jews with Moses, then why leading up to it were there multuple references to God's commandments? Do you really think that Jesus Christ came to change God's laws (the Sabbath)? If that was the case, then why did Jesus have to die at all? He had to die because God's law is eternal. In the new testament there is about 50 references to circumscision because Christ and the disciples were trying to show that grace had now been open to everyone, yet this panic still existed with somethiing so trivial compared to a commandment from God. You think one of God's commandments were changed and you wouldnt see the same attention to it in the New testament?

I've drifted from SDA not because i "opened my eyes" and see its false teachings, but because this world and evil has put its grip on me again. But i'll tell you, SDA and the purity that we have salvation through Jesus and Jesus' blood alone because He beat the penalty of death and now I have salvation through Him based on His merit is the purest and simplest form of truth and salvation that i have learned in my 42 years alive and having dabbled in baptists teaching, Catholic, spiritual, agnostic etc.

And if I do accept and believe in Christ then wanting to follow God's commandments, isnt a chore or duty, but flows from the purity that Crhist wants to put in my heart. Because if I truly love Jesus and God and my fellow man, then the Law (God's commandments) are all I need. The ceremonial law (shadows pointing to a sacrifice - Jesus Christ) those have been nailed to the cross.

I look at your site and I agree with one thing, the end days are coming because of the perversion you are trying to spread and attacking truth. For that I thank God and pray that He has mercy on me and helps me come back to the fold and I pray that He also shows mercy on you.

      God bless.

    4. Hi Anonymous,

I am sorry that you have been wandering around in a religious wilderness for so long. Surely I understand how frustrating that must be.

Notice as well that you can provide no Scripture to support your SDA teachings. Does that not concern you at all? Are you a follower of man or of God? (Gal. 1:10) Are you standing on the word of God or the traditions of men? Know this, I have no interest in debating matters of the law (Titus 3:9). God is more than able to reveal truth to those who seek after His righteousness, and I know He is able (Matt 5:6). So this is the last post I will approve which cites false SDA doctrine with no biblical support.

If you read all of Scripture, you will see that God's "commandments" are not the 10 commandments alone, but every word of instruction He gives.

"If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord." I Cor. 14:37

Notice in Paul's statement above that he is not speaking of the "10 commandments" at all, yet he says those exhortations from him are God's commandments. If we love God, then we will obey His commandments...but such is not a reference primarily to the 10 commandments.

If you have not yet seen the falsehoods in the SDA doctrines, then I can do nothing more than pray that God reveals them to you. No law will ever be able to convert your heart, only being born again through faith in Jesus Christ where you will then walk in the law of the Spirit so as not to fulfill the lusts of the flesh (Rom. 8:2). If you forsake that liberty in Christ and trust in the self-righteousness produced by trying to follow the law (Phil. 3:9; Rom. 10:3-4), then you will only find sin increasing in your life (Rom. 7:9).

"But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law." Gal. 5:18

"But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter. " Rom. 7:6

Remember this, God's mercy goes hand in hand with His truths. You cannot forsake His truths and still appeal for His mercy (Psalm 25:10, 57:10, 61:7, 85:10, 89:14; Pro. 3:3).

"But as for me, my prayer is unto thee, O LORD, in an acceptable time: O God, in the multitude of thy mercy hear me, in the truth of thy salvation." Psalm 69:13

Take care and be diligent to seek truth always.

    5. I AGREE WITH ANONYMOUS. I GUESS I WAS LEAD TO THIS FOR A REASON. READING THIS I ADMIT WAS GETTING ME ANGRY. BUT AT THE SAME TIME I REALIZE THAT THIS HAPPENS. THIS IS THE LAST DAYS. SDA IS NOT A CULT, AT ALL. ELLEN G WHITE, I SEE IT LIKE THIS. YOU SHOULD READ YOUR BIBLE. YOU WANT TRUTH, READ YOUR BIBLE AND PRAY. PRAY BEFORE, DURING AND AFTER. IF YOU'RE GOING TO TALK ABOUT ELLEN G WHITE THAT WAY, I WONDER WHAT YOU WOULD HAVE SAID ABOUT THE ORDINARY PEOPLE THAT WROTE THE BIBLE, WHICH WAS INSPIRED BY GOD. I DON'T FOLLOW MAN. I FOLLOW THE BIBLE. I AM AN SEVENTH DAY ADVENTIST, AND PROUD OF IT. CULT REALLY, I CAN'T EVEN BE MAD AT THOSE PEOPLE WHO FEEL THAT WAY. IN THE END WE'RE TRYING TO REACH THE SAME DESTINATION. AND I FEEL YOU'RE GOING ABOUT IT THE WRONG WAY. THIS CHURCH HAS DONE MORE FOR PEOPLE THAN ALOT OF CHURCES OUT THERE. EVERYTHING PREACHED IS PRAYED UPON BEFORE HAND, READ TOGETHER, AND PRAYED AFTER, PERTAINING TO THE UNDERSTANDING OF THE WORD. ITS NO WONDER YOU DON'T GET IT. CAUSE ALL THE OTHER CHURCHES I WENT TO, ALOT OF THEM DON'T PREACH FROM THE BIBLE OR TAKE SOME VERSE OUT OF IT, AND COME UP WITH YOUR OWN CONCLUSSION. WITHOUT ASKING FOR MEANING FROM THE HOLY GHOST. LATTER DAYS SAINTS- REALLY!! YOU ARE THE ONLY ONES THAT I ACTUALLY HEARD AND SEE YOU BASHING ANOTHER RELIGION. BUT THATS OKAY, THE TRUTH HURTS. YOU SEE GOD AS BEING THIS TYRANT. YOU WILL BURN IN HELL FOREVER. Really? MY BIBLE TEACHES THAT HELL ISN'T FOR MAN, IT WAS MADE FOR THE DEVIL AND HIS ANGELS. MY BIBLE SAYS GOD IS LOVE, AND STRANGELY THATS THE SAME THING MY CHURCH STANDS FOR. I CAN'T BE SAVED BY READING ELLEN G WHITE, I HAVE TO READ MY BIBLE AND FOLLOW GOD, AND IF YOU WERE SMART, YOU WOULD TOO. READ, AND STOP FALLING FOR WHAT EVERYBODY ELSE SAYS, THE ONLY ONE THAT CAN SAVE YOU IS GOD. MAYBE ITS JUST ME BUT LATTER DAY SAINTS IS REALLY TRYING TO MAKE SDA LOOK BAD. I WONDER WHY. THIS ISN'T THE WAY A TRUE CHRISTIAN SHOULD ACT. CHRISTIAN MEANS CHRIST-LIKE. I'M NOT SEEING THAT FROM YOU. I'M NOT PERFECT YET, BUT I DIDN'T GET ON HERE THE WAY I STARTED TO, AND REALLY LET YOU HAVE WHAT I FEEL YOU TRULY DESERVE FOR ACTING THIS WAY. BUT I'M TRYING TO FOLLOW MY MENTOR JESUS IN ALL THINGS. YOU SEE, YOU GAVE ME INSPIRATION TO WRITE THIS. I'M GLAD I READ YOUR COMMENTS, MAKES ME APPRECIATE JESUS AND MY FATHER GOD, THAT MUCH MORE. FROM AN SDA MEMBER TO ALL YOU THAT COMMENTED ON HERE, I TRULY WISH YOU THE BEST, AND HOPE YOU SEEK THE TRUTH AND FIND IT. MAN CAN'T SAVE YOU, ONLY GOD CAN.

    6. HI DANIEL EMANUEL,

I cannot compare the teachings of Ellen White - which is largely against Scripture - with the men God used to write His holy, inspired word. The standard for what is true has nothing to do with what a church has done for people, but rather that the truths of God are being preached & taught and the life of Christ being imparted to others.

When we look at the Bible through the lens of religion, we can often be blinded to what is right in front of us.

The Bible does say that hell is prepared for the devil & his angels, but it also states that all those who do not serve the Lord (unprofitable servants, goats) will also be cast there into outer darkness and everlasting fire right along with the devil. Matthew Chapter 25

      Hell Bent

Remember, pride goes before a fall (Pro. 16:18). The law will do that to you, make you proud I mean (Rom. 10:3; Phil 3:9). But this is not how God wants us to be. Put down that pride long enough to ask God to show you the truth. Stop defending man's religion and become a proclaimer of the Lord and a witness to Him.

It is okay to get angry at what is written here, but be angry enough to desire the truth. I to was angry when God first drew me out of the religious delusion I was in (it was not SDA, but all delusions are the same; it is simply Babylon).

Hold my feet to the fire and make me accountable for what is here. Challenge what is written. Look up the Scriptures referenced and compare that to what you have been taught. I pray that you would. These things are not posted just to bother SDA members, but to compel you to examine the truth of God's word.

Many of the SDA members are content to come here and defend Ellen White or defend the SDA organization, but very, very few actually want to deal with Scriptures. That is extremely telling. We must have a love of the truth or else God Himself will send us a delusion so that we will be believe a lie and be damned - and that means to hell (II Thess. 2:10-12).

If what is here is wrong, then it will be easy enough to see. Look through these comments and search the Scriptures presented since you say that you honor truth. What have you to lose?

May God give you wisdom as you search His word and may His Spirit guide you to all that is true.

*By the way, we are not Latter Day Saints. :-)

    8. ONE MORE THING. LATTER DAY SAINTS LET ME ADD TO YOUR QUOTE OF GAL 5:18. WITH GAL 5:22-BUT THE FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT IS LOVE, JOY, PEACE,LONGSUFFERING,GENTLENESS, GOODNESS, FAITH, 23-MEEKNESS, TEMPERANCE: AGAINST SUCH THERE IS NO LAW. 25, AND 26- IF WE LIVE IN THE SPIRIT, LET US ALSO WALK IN THE SPIRIT. LET US NOT BE DESIROUS OF VAIN GLORY, PROVOKING ONE ANOTHER, ENVYING ONE ANOTHER. 6:10 AS WE HAVE THEREFORE OPPORTUNITY, LET US DO GOOD UNTO ALL MEN, ESPECIALLY UNTO THEM WHO ARE OF THE HOUSEHOLD OF FAITH. GET WHERE I'M COMING FROM WITH THIS. AND OH, IF SDA'S BACKGROUND OR HISTORY IS FROM EGYPT OR WHATEVER. WHY DO WE OBSERVE SATURDAY AS THE SABBATH INSTEAD OF SUNDAY? AND WHY IS IT THAT HE PUT THOSE COMMANDMENTS IN STONE? AND WHY IS IT THAT THE FOURTH COMMANDMENT SPECIFICALLY SAY REMEMBER THE SABBATH DAY. THE VERY COMMANDMENTS SDA LIVE BY. AND WHY IS IT IN MATTHEW 28:1,MARK 16:1,2, LUKE 23:56, 24:1, JOHN 20 ALL SAY THAT JESUS ROSE ON THE FIRST DAY OF THE WEEK. STAY WITH ME. GOOD FRIDAY WAS WHEN JESUS WAS CRUCIFIED, BEFORE SUNDOWN. HE STAYED IN THE GRAVE UNTIL THE FIRST DAY OF THE WEEK. WHICH IS CALLED EASTER SUNDAY. SEE IT SUNDAY-FIRST DAY OF THE WEEK. SATURDAY- HE RESTED AND KEPT OUR FATHERS COMMANDMENT. THIS COMMANDMENT WAS THE FIRST MADE,BACK BEFORE ADAM AND EVE. IT WAS INSTALLED IN THE 10 COMMANDMENTS WITH THE WORD REMEMBER-HE SIGNIFIED THAT. AND JESUS KEPT IT. THE PROBLEM WITH ALOT OF CHURCHES AND PREACHERS, IS WHEN YOU READ THE BIBLE. YOU TAKE IT OUT OF CONTEXT, AND OR SKIP AROUND TO MAKE IT SAY WHAT YOU WANT IT TO SAY. NO CHURCH IS PERFECT, BUT SDA PREACHES THE SECOND COMING OF CHRIST. AND TO LOVE OTHERS AS JESUS DOES AND FOLLOW HIS TEACHINGS AND TRUTHS. I CAN GO ALL DAY ON ANY SUBJECT PERTAINING TO THE BIBLE. BUT ITS NOT UP TO ME TO CONVINCE YOU. ITS UP TO THE HOLY SPIRIT. AGAIN, STOP BASHING OTHER CHURCHES AND PEOPLE. YOU SHOULD CONCENTRATE ON GETTING YOURSELF IN LINE WITH GOD FIRST. THEN YOU WILL SEE THE TRUTH.

    9. Again Daniel Emanuel, if you really desire the truth as you say, don't just post trying to argue with me. People argue because they really don't want the truth. They simply want to hold on to what they believe.

      Ministration of Death

Search the Scriptures. And again, please do examine the instructions at the end of the above article regarding what types of comments will be approved (and which will not). If you are just interested in defending SDA, then there is no need for discussion.

I pray that you instead desire truth in the inward parts (Psalm 51:6).

  2. A lot to take in, still learning and studying...But I've been searching and longing for this kind of information for a long time. I've actually thought about asking you on this very subject earlier. Its a very serious theme to pick up.

    Thanks.

  3. Hi Juanita,

Yes, I am familiar with Christopher Hudson (Forerunner777). I too used to listen to him before God started opening my eyes to the deceptions that he weaves into his videos. He certainly is very bright and very familiar with the Scriptures. However, much of what he teaches in regards to the law and the Sabbath is false. Even Satan knows the word, and while I am not calling him Satan, I am pointing out that Scriptural acumen is not how we determine truth. We must test the spirits and compare teachings to the word of God like the Bereans.

And he is not alone. Others have contacted me about loved ones and friends who are starting to join the SDA organization. We must remember that deception in the last days will be so great as to even deceive the elect, if it is possible. May Jesus guard our hearts and minds as we make Him the center of our lives...and I know that He will.

I pray that you are well!

  4. Hi Dan,

It is alot to take in. Yet, one thing that I found very interesting is how - at their roots - these institutions all have their roots obviously tied back to Babylon. It is no wonder that God tells His people to come our of this defiled system.

    God Bless.

    ReplyDelete
  5. Certain RC church leaders have admitted that the institution of Sunday is a "mark" of their authority. The system is the woman of Revelation 17 that according to the prophecy sits on seven hills. It will become the mark when it is enforced by law. How can anyone who keeps this custom claim that their denominational teachings have not been infiltrated by Babylon?

    ReplyDelete
  6. Hi Anonymous,

The RCC institution speaks with the mouth of a dragon. I do not give weight to much of any of what they say. Mind you, I am not talking about the individual believers of the RCC (who are largely deceived), I am speaking of the organization itself. It is evil.

It surprises me not that they would make such a claim. For one, they are always trying to assert their "authority". This is the "mark" of the fact that they are part of Babylon. The real church of God needs not assert its own authority for it recognizes that all authority comes from God and is His alone.

Additionally, they (again, the institution) continue to pervert the Scriptures and the truths of God. For them to use a red herring to create division out of something that is a non-issue to God is nothing new.

In addition to saying that this whore sits on 7 hills, it also says that where the whore sits "...are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues." (verse 15) Yes, the RCC is part of Babylon, but they are not all of it. There are also 7 continents, which I think is the broader meaning of this text. Babylon is a global system seen in every part of the world.

I would say that anyone who believes that this is the mark has already been deceived by and engrafted into Babylon.

God doesn't care at all which day we set aside to worship Him and rest from our works because this is how we are supposed to live every day (Colossians 2:16-17). If we have entered into His rest, then we have entered and are living in His Sabbath (Hebrews 4:1-11). If we still think the Sabbath is just one particular day, then we have not entered into His rest.

"For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his." Hebrews 4:10

The New Testament Sabbath is walking in the discipleship of Christ everyday through a crucified life of obedience to Him so that it is no longer we who work, but Christ alone. Only then have we ceased from "our" works; only then we are truly submitted to the Lord of the Sabbath.

The true characteristic of Babylon is that it does not promote freedom in Christ, but chains man to some form of religious performance. Seek freedom my friend, for Jesus promises that the truth will make you free.

  7. From what I hear from what you guess are saying about Christopher Hudson (Forerunner777)Seems to me he is teaching the truth based on the bible! And seems like you guys aren't rightly dividing the word of truth not line upon line I support the writings of Ellen G white she has been proven to be a prophet way before you and i have came on the scene other more wiser and knowledgeable tried to prove here wrong back in her time and now here we are in 2011 trying to do the same thing...instead of testing the spirit, testing the prophet form the scriptures to see if she if of God you guys don't you just have beef with probably the SDA church in general or just a issue with your lack of surrendering to Christ and giving him a open heart and mind for change so the Holy Spirit and teach and lead you unto truth!...now if you guys are students of the bible and the athourity on who is of God and not..then please share with us what does this verse means in the bible?Revelation 19:10 And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.Joel 2:28-30 And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions: 29 And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit. 30 And I will shew wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke. 31 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD come. Isa 8:20 To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.So just for the record she came on the scene right after the prophecy of the tribulation (dark ages )the Dark day and the protestant reformation. based on bible prophecy...and there's much more scriptures on this matter.

  8. she is the most proliferate writer in American history maybe in the world! with a 3rd grade education Glory to God He is amazing how he can use such sinners as us for His cause. And she has been tested...she doesn't speak against the word of God..she doesn't claim to be God or Christ. She doesn't claim to be the Holy spirit...but just a child of God and his servant just like you and me...however God has anointed her with the Gift of Prophecy for the Church...By the way threw out all the ages of the church God has always had a prophet to lead and to God his people..what makes this age any different especially since we are living in the end times?? who God leave us without a prophet to face Satan head on?? I think not.So if she isnt the Prophet of the Lord then who? who do you think God has raised up for His people...Jean Dixon, the Pope? really who? You guys aren't being wise in your thinking. She been called by God,tested and proven.Thousands who aren't even Christians have acknowledge her as being a powerful Christians in her words and actions in ministry in saving souls for Christ.Yet those who profess to be Christians condemn her. Didn't they do Christ like that??? I say search your heart and souls before we so easily condemn someone who is doing the Lords work. the bible saids Corinthians 14:37 If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord. In her writings she never taught for God people not to keep Gods commandments nor ignore His holy word. However other do many popular ministers ands so called prophets of today...and are you guys writings blogs about them? calling them out by name?? 13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. 1 Corinthians 2:13-14 14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. So understanding that text we know we can't judge or view things from a carnal state of mind or position..we have to use God's word to be the test as well as testing the fruits of the on professing to be a instrument of GodMatthew 7:20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. Her life was always in humble service of the Lord. And lets not forget she was a adventist keeping Sunday 1st like millions of Christians were before the truth of the seventh day sabbath came to her..and hence forth she and family keep it and taught it to others because it was bible truth for her time and still is today! how many ministers and prophets are teaching and telling other to obey the Lord like the apostles and prophets had just on that point alone?? hardly any yet we wanna stone her like stephen. may God help us to come to a closer walk with our Lord and a deeper understanding of His word and not just surface read but yet be able to stand on our own with the word of God giving thus sayeth the Lord and not just follow blogers who aren't rightly "dividing the word of truth"2 Timothy 2:14 Romans 14:12 So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God. So Sister Juanita and Brother Dan I hope you please reconsider your positions on the matter of Ellen White as well as the so called "occult" teachings of the adventist church. Christ saids in Mathew 24:4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. Proverbs 16:25 There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death. Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. Jesus Christ is coming soon Lets be ready to meet him together! Pray for me as I pray for you. I give this posting in the Love of Christ.God Bless

  9. Hello Phillipfreeland,

I am sure you will agree that what matters most is not the thoughts or opinions of man, but what God says in a matter. Correct?

“And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him. But the prophet, which shall presume to speak a word in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, even that prophet shall die. And if thou say in thine heart, How shall we know the word which the LORD hath not spoken? If what a prophet proclaims in the name of the Lord does not take place or come true, that is a message the Lord has not spoken. That prophet has spoken presumptuously. Do not be afraid of him.” Deuteronomy 18:19-22

“But the prophet who prophesies peace will be recognized as one truly sent by the Lord only if his prediction comes true.” Jeremiah 28:9

“When all this comes true - and it surely will - then they will know that a prophet has been among them.” Ezekiel 33:33

“The Lord was with Samuel as he grew up, and he let none of his words fall to the ground. And all Israel from Dan to Beersheba recognized that Samuel was attested as a prophet of the Lord.” 1 Samuel 3:19

His words are enough for me. I don't care how charismatic, how well-liked, how respected... If someone's words do not line up with Scripture, then I am going with Scripture.

  10. Amen! sounds like your on the right tract with that one my friend I do agree with you on every point from the Word of God!...However I'm still confused as to why you wouldn't consider Ellen white as being a prophet of the Lord? period. She meets all of the biblical criteria. You seems to have a serious prejudice against her or 7th day Adventist in general. She has been tested and proven by the word and men way before you and I ever came on the scene accepting Christ as our Lord and Savior has took her threw the mill and at the end came out confessing she was of the Lord and her visions weren't staged or falsely rigged by the church its was purely genuine according to the word of God. Again...yeah shall know them by their fruits rights? Mark 7:20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. so please give examples why you think she isn't Gods prophet..not something you heard of or assumed. But based on her life and in her writings she has said something contrary to the word of God or anything she hasn't repented from if she had erred from scripture???? she never claimed to be Christ nor sinless nor one who makes a mistake like me ...you have this idea that the prophets in the bible didn't have there personal issues and have fallen short at times as well...however it God used them inspite of there short comings because in there heart God new where they wanted to be in terms of there love and commitment to him. examples...( moses smote the rock twice, David was a murder, and a thief, Peter was a liar etc) we can go on with others but I hope you get my point..yet we still consider these men as men of God (prophets, preachers, teachers) in the church. We are sinners and err in life the disciples, apostles and prophets of old had there issues yet they confessed, repented and made the changes in Christ unto righteousness. And if not her my friend then you tell me Who is the prophet God has raised up for His church in the end times? who ??? when will he or she come on the scene yet? Isaiah 1:18 Lets us reason together here.Your really playing with fire my brother if your wrong you are actually criticizing God himself. You haven't giving any facts to show she isn't a prophet of the Lord no facts period. But some great scriptures we have always used for those to be tested by...and yet from my studies like many others see she has passed that test. Your need to go back and to some real research on the lives she has changed showing them to Christ as a servant of God and the great things threw her inspired counsel had made early America the great country she is today in health ,and education and in business. so you tell me if not her who wrote over 500 books all pointing people to serve God and to be ready for his soon coming. she never claimed to be perfect just a messenger. We have placed that on her to be "perfect" yet peter cut off a man's ear against the teachings of Christ...yet we use peters writings as thus saith the Lord..sounds hypocritical to me. would you agree? I say this we are on the edge of a major crisis in this world leading to the coming of Christ ...The Lord we be very irresponsible to bring us this far to leave us hanging without a end time prophet Proverbs 29:18 Where there is no vision, the people perish. So again I asked you and all you bloggers if not her then who? It so easy to tear someone down...but do you have someone in mind from the word God has He showed you who that might be? please share...please be a builder of the kingdom not a demolisher.

  11. Hello Phillipfreeland,

If you need examples of where her prophecies have failed or where she has preached doctrines diametrically opposed to Scripture, then I suggest you watch the videos in this article.

"...or anything she hasn't repented from if she had erred from scripture???"

If she did repent for the falsehoods she taught, then such is wonderful for her eternal destiny. However, her doctrines & prophecies remain false and should not be followed.

"she never claimed to be perfect just a messenger."

The Bible doesn't say we have to be perfect, in terms of being without error. But it does tell us how to identify a false prophet, and Ellen White was one according to the Word of God.

Yet, I couldn't really care less about the person of Ellen White. I am more concerned with people living today and being deceived by those who have promoted the same false doctrines she espoused. It is for the benefit of those who desire to serve God in Spirit and in Truth that this post is made.

As I stated, I will abide by the word of God.

    Thank you.

  12. My pastor once said that if people speak poorly of him, disparage him, or defame his reputation...we should not care one iota. And I agree completely. He was right!

So many times, you see people championing the cause of men (or women), when the only cause we should champion is the cause of Christ.

How foolish it would have been for the Apostles to run around defending each others' reputations. Rather, they considered it a "small thing" to be judged by men - and even to be misjudged by them - as long as Christ was preached in truth. They "rejoiced" that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for His name sake's.

They were not concerned with their reputations, nor did they instruct their followers to be. Their only concern was that the glory of Jesus' name not suffer.

When man feels compelled to defend other men, that is idolatry. The fact that one feels led to do this is the evidence that you know this person's work is not based in truth.

The statement made above about the RCC goes for anything else as well. If one has to promote one's own authority or have it defended by men, then that is Babylon.

In fact, you will not find much difference at all between these statements defending Ellen White and the statements from a catholic woman under the post about Mary defending the RCC. What is the commonality? Not ONE concern about Jesus Christ and His truths, but only for the reputation of the idols.

Where are your affections? The fact that you can spend so much effort trying to build up this woman shows that your affections are not on Christ.

Our hope and our salvation should never be based in the reputation of men/women...if we claim faith in Jesus Christ.

Forget my pastor. Forget Ellen White. Forget ME! Consider us all the scum of the earth. Who cares about the vessel? It is of no consequence. Preach Christ! But this cannot be done as long as an idol is present in the heart.

Look, I am not trying to be harsh here, but you must really step out of the delusion you are in. Are you the proclaimer of men or of Christ?

May our life's work and testimony stand or fall based on whether it was built upon the Rock or not.

  13. If you think that criticizing other religions is good, and this is the way you are going to bring lives to God, I encourage you to read that Bible you have one more time. Make sure you ask God for wisdom to understand the Bible as it is and not explaining small verses and backing them up with other small portions of the Bible. The Bible talks about misunderstanding His word, too in case you missed that part. This videos are not even productive. Basic examples that people as "Christian" that I supposed obey God's word not follow is Exodus 20 and Leviticus 11. Both are scientifically and BIBLICALLY proven by history that they are true. Why if in the Bible says to keep the Sabbath why we just chose another day. Is telling you directly that you must keep the Sabbath. You are not saved by not keeping the sabbath; you are saved if you OBEY. So if you just as easy don't follow one of the commandments you are disobeying. Am I right? Obey his law and you will gain the gift of ETERNAL LIFE.

  14. Hi Jdum89,

    No, you are not right.

Why didn't you refer to Exodus 25, 29, or 30? Why not Leviticus Chapters 1, 2, or 3?

Were not these commands given to be obeyed as well?

If we are to serve the Lord, then we must receive His whole word and seek understanding about what it means to be in obedience to it. Otherwise, we are just engaged in religious performance.

"Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ." Colossians 2:16-17

Do you endeavor to understand and obey God's whole word?

Anytime we shed light on darkness, it is going to make the way to Christ revealed. So, I am thankful for that.

"But rise, and stand upon thy feet: for I have appeared unto thee for this purpose, to make thee a minister and a witness both of these things which thou hast seen, and of those things in the which I will appear unto thee; Delivering thee from the people, and from the Gentiles, unto whom now I send thee, To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me." Acts 26:16-18

I don't care about the SDA organization. However, I do care about people deceived by it and pray that God will bring deliverance to those who truly sincerely seek Him. I know that He will.

  15. @JDUM89...I was raised SDA and even attended Oakwood College for my freshmen year. I was very sold on every aspect of Adventism and use to defend it with the same zeal as you and Phillip. During my time at Oakwood I began to truly study the word for my self and not for the purpose of preparing for the next bible bowl competition or specail AY program. The Spirit began to reveal many discprepencies between the doctrine of Adventism and the Word.

I left the organization two years after that. I am free from the bondage of doctrine and walk in the truth and light of God's Word. My desire is for Him and not the law or writings of man. Ellen White's prophecies have been proven as false even by her own account. She never said they were false but that she "miscalculated". Come on...really.

In regards to the comment about not reading the entire bible and picking bits and pieces to focus on, Adventist are extremely guilty for that. What about the gifts of the Spirit and the five fold ministry. Ellen White is deamed to be the only prophet in the Adventist church. You will not see the laying on of hands or casting out of demons being done in any Adventist church around the world. Jewelry, makeup, vegetarianism, Sabbath worship, marrying a "sabbath keeper", are just a few dogmatic doctrines that represent Adventism and speak to the bondage that Jesus and the apostle spoke of us being freed from.

I usually don't get into petty doctrine arguments, but I hate to see people so deceived and ready to be persecuted for the lies and deceit of Satan. Seek God's truth. Pray daily for His will and light to be known. I promise He will answer and you will find that SDA, RC, COGIC, CRC, etc. is not the way. Jesus is the only way and His Word (not the supplemental writings of man) is the only thing that will stand.

One last thing...this ministry does more than pick on denominations or expose people. If you take the time to look around the site you will find many enriching studies about various topics. I have been blessed by this ministry for over a year now. I just needed to add my two cents. Not to defend Mia, cause truth always defends itself.

    My Dear Breather en,
How are you sure that Ellen G. White is a false prophet? before you judge her I want you to read all her books especially the Great Controversy then after all judge her if she is really a false prophet. Some of her books talks about prophecy especially the Great Controversy, this book was written for a 100 yrs. ago then some of his words that was written in that book was telling about the future. She told also about U.S that someday it will rise and will be the most powerful city then what happened now? As we see U.S nowadays are powerful among the nations so I tell you my brothers and sisters in Christ, do not judge her for you don't know how big she contribute especially in our Religion.
I know that this words is not enough for you to satisfy your questions and comments but I suggest you all that read her books first especially the Great Controversy before saying that she is a false prophets.
May God Bless you all as you search for the truth.

  17. Hello Vincent,

The Scriptures indicate that if a man (or woman) says "Thus saith the Lord" and the words do not come true, such is a false prophet. Ellen White's own failed prophecies indicate that she falls into the category. Further, much of the doctrine she taught was against Scripture.

We certainly should all seek for truth, but God's word is the standard for that truth, not any man's (or woman's) words.

May we all turn to God alone as the definer of what is true and not the wisdom of man.

  18. i was born into and grew up in the
sda church - as soon as i was old
enough to think critically i was
    bothered by the discrepancies i
noticed between what the bible says
and what the sda church teaches.
they teach the law but only follow
some of it - for instance - in the
torah (1 five books of moses) the
law states that you cannot start
a fire on the sabbath and if you do
you must die. well, today that would mean that you could not drive
your car on the sabbath as a fire is required to run the engine, you
could not cook on your gas stove
because that requires you to start
a fire, you could not run your
furnace in the winter because the
furnace requires a fire to run - yet we did all of these things when
    i was a kid - don't get me started
on how the sda church says one
thing and does another because i
could go on forever. i am now 65
years old and it has taken all this
time for Jesus to cleanse me from
the slavery i was born into - never
will i willingly go back to slavery
to the law! i am free in Jesus! and

  19. Hi Nancy,

I couldn't agree more. It is a joy to serve Him in Spirit and in Truth.

When it comes to "keeping the Sabbath" in terms of the letter of the law, it includes:

No work of any kind (Ex. 20:8-10, 23:12, 31:14-15, 35:2; Lev. 23:3; Deut. 5:12-14; Numbers 15:32-36; Jer. 17:21-22). The Jews understood "work" to cover a number of tasks including carrying, burning, writing, washing, tying, untying, marking, running, speaking about business, etc.

No preparing of food or cooking of any kind nor allowing others to do so for you (Exod. 16:20-30, 35:3).

No traveling of any kind (Ex. 16:29).

No buying or selling of any kind (Amos 8:5; Neh. 10:31; 13:15,19).

No carrying of anything out of your place of residence (Jer. 17: 21).

No lighting of any fires, including striking a match, changing a thermostat, starting a car, using electricity, etc. (Exodus 35:3)

If people honestly looked at the requirements for Sabbath keeping, they would soon acknowledge that they are continually breaking the Sabbath.

The saddest part is that they are failing to understand - and thereby walk in - the true Sabbath rest which can only come from being in Jesus Christ.

I thank God for your deliverance and it only goes to show that He is faithful. He is no respecter of persons. What He has done for you He will do for all who want to know and walk in the truth.

    God Bless!

  20. Hi Latter Days Ministry, to answer your comment: "Why didn't you refer to Exodus 25, 29, or 30? Why not Leviticus Chapters 1, 2, or 3?"

-Hebrew laws were divided into three parts. the moral law (the ten commandments), and the ceremonial an civil laws. The ten commandments, written in stone, were found inside the ark of the covenant (1kings8:9), and all the other laws were written in a book that was put beside the ark (Deut31:24-26).
All through out the new testament we find that it says that we no longer live by the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ! Amen! I believe that one hundred percent. however, we must clarify something. if the hebrew law was divided into three, which part is no longer valid? all three? two? one?
many times you have posted a very commonly used verse: "Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ." Colossians 2:16-17
now let us examine this text. to do this, we must study it in it's context. so let's read from verse 14: "Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances, that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his Cross". now is is really interesting the words Paul chose to refer to the laws that are no longer valid. the handwriting, which is exactly like Deut31:24, followed by contrary to us which is also exactly like Deut31:26; all which refer to the ceremonial and civil laws (which were outside the ark, and not inside with the ten commandments). But then, why does the verse say of the sabbath days? The Hebrews had two different sabbaths (which means rest). One was the ceremonial sabbath, and another was the weekly sabbath. If you look at Leviticus 23 and Numbers 28,29 you will see which were the ceremonial ones. they were days chosen (ej: the 14th of the 1st month) that no matter what day of the week it was, monday, tuesday, friday, etc, it had to be kept rest like they did on weekly sabbaths. the weekly sabbath, however, was not istituted on the event of mt. sinai, rather in the week of creation Gen2:2-3. this is why it is the only commandment that starts with "remember" (exo20:8). Therefore, unlike the ceremonial sabbaths, this one was given to all mankind. not just to the hebrews like many believe.
But how do we know which sabbath is colossians2 refering to? first, we start with the fact that this sabbath is Not in the book written in Deut31, which found earlier was abolished, however it was written in the ten commandments put inside the ark. second, what does Jesus have to say about the ten commandments? Mathew5:17-18 says he didnot come to abolish it. that until heaven and earth pass, not a jot or a tittle shall pas of it. What day did Jesus keep? luk4:16; mark1:21 what day did paul used to keep AFTER jesus' died? Act17:2 what are the two main characteristics of the saints in Revelations? Rev14:12 those who keep the commandments (the ten commandments, not nine). What does Isaiah say we'll do in heaven also? Isaiah 66:22-23
and there is more evidence of the weekly sabbath. May God bless you all and enlighten all of us in the study of His word so we may find the truth in it and not be deceived with false doctrines.
I leave you guys with this last promise: Isaiah58:13-14

  21. Hi Jaref,

You say, "if the hebrew law was divided into three, which part is no longer valid? all three? two? one?"

The answer is that all of the law is fulfilled in Christ.

God is not the author of confusion, and when He says to let no man judge you regarding Sabbath days, He does not qualify that at all to say, "Oh! That is except the 7th day Sabbath". That is a distinction you are making in order to hold on to your doctrine.

Further, the New Testament is quite clear that the Ten Commandments (called the ministration of death) is not the governing authority over Christians: Ministration of Death

Also, every command God gives us in the NT is a "commandment": All of God's Commandments

The Ten Commandments are handwritten; they are written by the very finger of God.

Yes, it is crucial - especially at times such as this - that we not give heed to false doctrines. But what you are espousing friend, is false. There are a number of articles on this site which discuss the law if helpful. But more importantly, just seek God to show you the truth in this matter. He is faithful to do so.

    God Bless

    1. I want it to be absolutely clear that the moral law contained in the Ten Commandments was never abolished. That's not the law of Moses. You see, that's the law of God. It's true that some ordinances came to an end at the Cross, but let's be careful to identify those ordinances correctly. In Ephesians 2:15 we read this: "Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace." Again, we read in Colossians 2:14, "Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross." Now these two verses clearly reveal that a certain law came to an end when Jesus died. It says that the ordinances were blotted out, nailed to the cross, abolished at the time of Jesus' death on Calvary. But, my friends, is this the Ten Commandment law? Absolutely not. The great moral law of the universe has never been referred to as ordinances. Colossians 2:16 goes on to describe that law which was done away with. "Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holy day, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ." Now certainly there is nothing in the Ten Commandments about meat offerings or drink offerings or new moons, is there?

Somebody might say, "Well, what about those shadowy sabbath days mentioned in the text?" Well this is not talking about the seventh-day Sabbath of the Ten Commandments. There was nothing shadowy about that original Sabbath which Christ made before sin ever came into the world. Shadows and ceremonies appeared as the result of sin and pointed forward to the deliverance which would come through Christ, so this text could not be referring to the seventh-day Sabbath. But were there some other sabbath days besides the seventh-day Sabbath? Yes, indeed. In fact, turn to Leviticus 23 and you will find four Jewish festivals referred to as sabbaths even though they fell on different days of the week every year; for example, in verse 24: "Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, In the seventh month, in the first day of the month, shall ye have a sabbath, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, an holy convocation." Now this festival came on a set date every year and was called a yearly sabbath or an ordinance. It was a shadow or type of the coming of Christ as a Savior.

In verses 27, 32, and 34, other yearly sabbaths are brought to view in which people were to rest. Verses 37 and 38 sums it up this way: "These are the feasts of the Lord, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, to offer an offering made by fire unto the Lord, a burnt offering, and a meat offering, a sacrifice, and drink offerings, every thing upon his day: beside the sabbaths of the Lord." Now please notice, friends, how the yearly shadowy Sabbath days were clearly distinguished from the seventh-day Sabbath of the Lord. They were included in the ceremonial law of Moses but the Lord's sabbath day was in the heart of His Ten Commandment moral law. There's great confusion unless these two codes of law are recognized and forever kept separate

    2. Hello Anonymous,

That is not correct. Please read II Corinthians Chapter 3. In part, it states:

"But if the ministration of death, written and engraven in stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not stedfastly behold the face of Moses for the glory of his countenance; which glory was to be done away: How shall not the ministration of the spirit be rather glorious?" verse 7-8

Theses verse refer to a time when there was instruction given on engraved stone where after receiving it, Moses' face was so glorious that the people could not look upon him. This occurred when Moses came down from Mt. Sinai with the "two tables of testimony", otherwise called the Ten Commandments (Exodus 34:1-33). Notice that the Scripture says the glory of that ministration has been "done away".

Read also Galatians Chapter 4, which says in part:

"Which things are an allegory: for these are the two covenants; the one from the mount Sinai, which gendereth to bondage, which is Agar. For this Agar is mount Sinai in Arabia, and answereth to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children...Nevertheless what saith the scripture? Cast out the bondwoman and her son: for the son of the bondwoman shall not be heir with the son of the freewoman." verses 24-25 and 30

In the Old Testament, God often refers to the Ten Commandments as being representative of the old covenant. In the above text, the covenant from Mount Sinai - which is the Ten Commandments - is likened unto the bondwoman Agar. God's instruction is to "Cast out" the bondwoman and her son in order to become children of the new covenant.

In just these two examples alone, there are definite references to the Ten Commandments along with admonitions from the Lord that they have been "done away" and "cast out". So your assertion that all in the law except for the ten commandments have ended is not accurate.

You are seeking for a division in the law that God is not making in the New Testament. Since you believe that the Ten Commandments are still the governing authority for Christians, you have to somehow make NT references to the "law" exclude that. Know that the text never does this. When God says the law has ended, He means all of it (including the Ten Commandments as listed specifically above).

Now, this is really not the topic of this article. If you have further questions here, please see the following article and comment there instead. This is not an article about the ten commandments and I want all comments to stay on topic for the benefit of all.

  23. Hi Daniel,

The purpose of this article is not to degrade nor defend Christopher Hudson. If you are interested in knowing why his view of the Ten Commandments is wrong, enough info has been provided here, as well as in other articles on this blog.

The issue is so much bigger than Forerunner777. I pray that God opens his eyes to the delusions he is promoting. Although his does teach truth on some other subjects, a little leaven leavens the whole lump.

The bottom line is that these SDA doctrines are in error, and it doesn't become truth just because certain people promote it.

    Thanks for commenting.

  26. I have been watching the videos of Forerunner & just discovered that he is 7th Day. As a new Christian, what bothers me is not so much that he is 7th Day, but that he doesn't come out and say that. He is the second 7th Day follower that I've noticed this about - Walter Veith was the first. Obscuring that fact is, in my opinion, the same as what they warn us about in their teachings on music and other media. They will explain how subtle the deception there is, but at the same time, they aren't being forthcoming about their doctrines. It feels like a sneaky tactic.

I agree that when something does not line up with Scripture, it's just wrong.

I would ask 7th Day Adventists who are commenting here (and I am honestly inquiring, not being snarky or argumentative) that, if they feel so sure about their beliefs, why not be more open about identifying themselves. You shouldn't "trick" someone into believing. When I tell people about salvation, I don't try to hide Who I am representing or what my beliefs are. And if the 7th Day folks feel they aren't wrong in their doctrine, then be open about it and let people decide for themselves whether to follow or not. Otherwise, you are going to have people find out after the fact and feel that they were lied to. I can tell you that I never did listen to anything Walter Veith had to say because I felt that his tactics were sneaky. I am a bit more discerning now as a believer so I do listen to the Forerunner videos, but I strain to weed out the "bad" doctrine.

Thank you for the post. This situation reminds me of the hazards pointed out in "Pilgrim's Progress."

    God bless us all.

  27. Dear brothers and sisters,

I believe Ellen G. White's writings does not contradict with the Bible. One thing that I might need to clarify you, SDA doesnt worship Ellen G. White, we do not call her Holy mother, we called her as a sister. She was our fellow believer in Christ, and many people gathered and form this same spirit, thats how the adventist is being formed. We believed in her writings just like people in those days believing in Paul, peter etc who was the disciples of Jesus. We acknowledge that some people are chosen by God to bring out the message. Exposing the truth is not attacking the RCC, it's revealing the truth, remember that in Daniel 12:4
But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.

There are hundred of denominations around the world who claimed to know Jesus but remember this verse : Jesus said, "Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father" (Matt. 7:21),

Im defending sist White because she's a fellow believer who believe in Jesus Christ as our personal saviour. I challenge you to read her book "Steps to Christ" and found anything that contradict in the book with the bible. She was an ordinary person just like you and me, the difference was, she accepted the gift and use it to glorify God, and because of that God uses her to preach His truth to the world who lost the truth. it's not her, it's God :)..

A sling shot in David's hand is a mighty weapon.
It all depends whose hands it's in.

Nails in my hands might produce a birdhouse.
Nails in Jesus Christ's hands will produce salvation for the entire world.
It all depends whose hands they're in.

Ellen G white, an ordinary girl, but with mighty hand leading her, she reached out millions people around the world. because it depends who is leading her.

Do we worship Moses? no. Do we worship David? no. Do we worship Ellen White? no. Jesus said " I am the way, the truth and the life".

Illustration: we all may have the same map(Bible) to reach to our destination(heaven).. if you grab the wrong map or interpret is wrongly, you would never reach heaven. There are many denominations or person in the world who claim to know the truth, regardless whether you are an SDA or from other denominations, Seek GOd's truth and He will direct your path. May God is always the center of our lives.

  28. This would be endless arguments because everybody would stand on their own beliefs and interpretation. As for me, I believe in her writings and I believe that God has sent her. It's more than 100 years ago when she talked about the USA in prophecy, not because she made it up, it was in the bible, only that no one could understand it, and God revealed that truth to her. Look what is happening now, just a few examples of articles:

  29. Hi Anonymous,

The problem with your comments is that it doesn't matter what you believe (or I believe for that matter). It only matters whether what we say lines up with God's word or not.

If you want to see how Ellen White's prophecies were false, then I suggest you watch the videos in the article above.

“If what a prophet proclaims in the name of the Lord does not take place or come true, that is a message the Lord has not spoken. That prophet has spoken presumptuously. Do not be afraid of him.” Deuteronomy 18:22

Satan is also able to speak some truth, but the difference is he always perverts it with lies. So having "some truth" is not a sign that one is speaking for the Lord.

Yes, I would agree that repentance is the call of the hour, so that we all may turn from every false way and truly serve the Living God with our whole hearts...in Spirit and in Truth.

Can someone please explain to me from the bible what defines a cult and what makes SDAs a cult? Thanks very much

    1. Hello Anonymous,

A cult is any order of beliefs or organizations where the words of man/woman are elevated above - and often times in direct opposition to - the word of God. The same man/woman is then often put in the place that only God should have in people's lives, causing people to even forsake God in order to defend and be aligned with that man/woman.

For information on how Ellen G. White fits that mold biblically, please see the videos in the article above and read the comments posted.

  31. What I'm getting out of this blog is one Christian criticizing another Christian just because of a minor difference in approach in worshipping our Father. This is absolutely ridiculous since it creates more problems than it really has especially in today's world where Christian kids are becoming atheists (all due to the works of Hollywood and the media). Also as "ministry of truth" you sure still keep things derived from the Papacy.

Jesus is not the Messiah's true name, in fact in ancient Hebrew (the language of the chosen people) it's Yahushua. Jesus derived from the Greek word Iesus which means "Zeus Saves", now we all know that the pagan god Zeus is non other than Satan (Luke 10:18 - And He said to them, “I was watching Satan fall from heaven like lightning").

God is not the Father's true name, it's Yahuwah (YHWH). God / Gawd / Gad was a pagan deity from Canaan and later adopted by the germanic Teutonic Order as God, so why do we call the Father in heaven by this pagan name? Scripture says we should not defile his name, or even speak the name of another god, which would give it recognition and possible merit. (Exodus 23:13 - And in all [things] that I have said unto you be circumspect: and make no mention of the name of other gods, neither let it be heard out of thy mouth)

Historically in 321 CE, while Constantine was a Pagan sun-worshiper, he declared that Sunday was to be a day of rest throughout the Roman Empire and not the original Saturday which the Jewish people were following. He did this to distance themselves from them, to create a new religion than to be labeled as a sect of Judiasm.

In conclusion your argument against the SDA is invalid. You point them out as blasphemers when in fact the very deity you think you praise about is pagan in origin. We're all humans; who are you to judge another person just because her practice is different from yours? Judgement alone is reserved only to the Messiah and to the Father. Reading this blog reminded me of those Rabbi's who were criticizing Yahushua for speaking differently than what they were taught. One of the greatest thing the Messiah taught us was to be humble. Not once did he criticize sinners but instead showed compassion to them and physically went out there and helped those who were in need. However, he surely did criticize those over zealous Rabbis who claimed to be followers of the Father.

I advise reading the history about the followers of the Messiah, the Natsarim (the practices the original 12 disciples followed until Constantine's time) who were wrongfully persecuted by the early church pagan fathers for maintaining the true practices of the Torah who followed the LuniSolar Calender that Yahuah instructed to keep track of the Sabbath and not that pagan Gregorian Calender. Shalom!

    1. Hi Joshua,

It seems you have been given much misinformation. Instead of taking time here to address each of the errors you state, I will simply list other articles here which will explain those for you.

      The Evil Letter "J"

      The Sacred Name of YHVH?

Sunday, the Mark of the Beast?

      The Spirit of the Law

The Great Commandment in the Law

How the Law is to be Used Lawfully

      The Ministration of Death

      Who is Supposed to Judge?

Not once did Jesus criticize sinners? Then clearly you have never read the Scriptures. Where Was the Love?

You are free to think what you will of me. However, Jesus is the standard and the word of God is the barometer by which we measure truth. When compared to God's words, it is clear that the SDA organization perverts them, making of no effect God's commands by its adherence to the traditions of men...which is exactly what Jesus held against the Pharisees.

It is always interesting how those holding to false religion always claim that the ones pointing out their error are Pharisees when in actuality the main issue with those religious leaders is often reflected in those very organizations. They puff people up in pride by adherence to religious works and the traditions of men. They elevate the words of men/women over the word of God. They blind men to their own need for repentance because they engender self-righteous (i.e. we keep the law, we "name" the right name).

Here in a nutshell Joshua is your problem. No matter how wrong I may be, that still does not make you right. Even if I am spewing lies out of the pit of hell, that only guarantees you a seat next to me in Hell if you yourself are not worshiping the One & True God in spirit and in truth.

You don't become right simply by trying to prove me wrong; you (like everyone else) must meet God's standard for what is true, according to His word. Yet you spend most of your arguments trying to disprove what you think I believe. You never address the Scriptures which disprove much of what SDA teaches. There is a reason for that. If you really desire truth, then ask the Lord to open your eyes to the deceptions which have ensnared you. It is His desire to set you free and make you His own...if you let Him.

We don't have the right to "approach" the Father as we desire. Further, false doctrines and perversions of God's word are not "approaches" to worship, but simply lies from the god of this world sent to deceive. Either we stand for, and have been transformed by, God's truths or we are representing another Jesus, another gospel, and another spirit (II Cor. 11:4).

May God give us all grace to see Him as He really is and may He instill in us the desire to see Him in that way.

  32. My apologies Latter Day regarding Seventh Day. By the grace of Yahuah I have learned that Saturday in Roman Calender was worshipped to Malech or Saturn in their case. The only way we know Shabbath is through Yahuah's LuniSolar Calender given to the Israelites during the Exodus. However I still advise you to not use the word Jesus or God but refer the father and his son by his original names Yahuah and Yahusha as in an honor of respect, stay away from what the Papacy has standardized and go back to the roots, since the Bible today has gone through four different language interpretations and more than a dozen revisions thus confusing the truth from what it has been originally written via Yiddish/Hebrew dialect. Shabbat Shalom my brother, once again I'm sorry for sounding quite offensive as I am a bit frustrated as how the world is today. Praise be to Yahuah.

They called Christ a cult as well...in fact, they said he was down right involved with Satan. Which makes me think if your church is not getting any of that, makes you wonder if you truly are following Christ's true teachings. For the sake of repeating, Christ said this would happen. Moreover, it was the church...church people that called Him these things.. not the state.

      Hi Mark,

If hate was the inspiration behind this post, then the truth would have been withheld and people left in darkness. Remember, you cannot have Love without Truth...for God is both.

The Gospel is not about me or you. Neither is truth defined by who does or doesn't agree with you (or me). It is Jesus to whom we must all answer and conform. It is the word of God which is the standard for truth.

Don't take the avenue of self-delusion by discounting those who disagree with you as being motivated by hatred. In doing such, you forsake your own liberty to be found in Christ Jesus. Rather, take the information presented and bring it to the Lord in prayer. If you seek Him for Truth in sincerity, He will answer.

Those who truly love the Lord will desire to walk in His truths.

  34. Again too friends, let me just say, Ellen White does not teaches evolution, neither does the Seventh Day Adventist Church teaches evolution. If we taught it, whether Theistic or Atheistic Evolution, why would we for instance keep the Sabbath? The Sabbath is a sign of God's work in creation. He made the world in 7 literal days. if it was for instance not literal days as some said (Theistic evolutionist), but perhaps 7 thousand years(misusing 2 Peter 3:8), why then keep the sabbath. According to that, wouldn't the sabbath be each 7th thousand years? And again, is God unable to even create the world in one week? He can even do it in a moment, but He was establishing the weekly time cycle, that's why God worked this way. The flood is teh key to what many evolutionist stumble at (2 Peter 3:3-6).

    1. Hi Winston,

You are correct in that the Sabbath day was given as a sign. The issue however has nothing to do with whether the "sign" for the Sabbath was a day, but whether God's people recognize who the Sabbath was a "sign" for. The answer is Jesus Christ.

"Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ." Colossians 2:16-17

The purpose of the "shadow" (which includes the Sabbath day) is to allow us to recognize the substance of the body, who is Christ. Once we have Christ, we have obtained all that the shadow could only murkily hint at. We all know that the "shadow" of something could never possess the full substance of what it reflects. This is why the Sabbath was "made for man". Man was not made to serve the Sabbath, but the Sabbath was made to serve a purpose in man: pointing Him to Jesus Christ.

"And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath: Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath." Mark 2:27-28

My friend, these are the last days. Do not be caught up in senseless strivings about the law (Titus 3:9). Turn with your whole heart to Jesus and repent of sin. Then let Him lead you and live through you via His Holy Spirit (Rom. 12:1). This is the only answer for every man. Anything else is simply a satanic distraction to keep you mired in the wisdom and traditions of men (or women).

  35. You mentioned in an earlier reply that: "The answer is that all of the law is fulfilled in Christ". I do agree with that. When we accept Christ as our Saviour, it is His blood and His sacrifice that covers our sins, and "our works are as filthy rags". It is only Christ's blood...therefore no amount of 'following the law' strictly saves us, and true Sabbath rest comes only from being in Jesus Christ. As I have understood from my study of the bible, Christ is the center of every one of the Ten Commandments...those commandments are our standard for christian living from the beginning of time to the end of time, from birth to death, FOR all peoples, Jew and Gentile alike. Those ten commandments were put into 'written' language and given to Moses, however, they were in 'verbal' language from the beginning of creation. I cannot understand how the FOURTH commandment has been thrown away by most Christians (statement of "the LAW was fulfilled in Christ"...), however the other nine commandments are taught and observed by all good Christians. Throughout history those who have kept the Sabbath of the Ten Commandments have been persecuted and killed. There have been many groups of sabbath-keepers all through the ages, and not all of them were Jews! And many of them were in Europe, long before there were any Seventh-day Adventists.
The Protestant Reformer, John Wesley, stated "This 'handwriting of ordinances' our Lord did blot out, take away, and nail to His cross. (Colossians 2:14.) BUT THE MORAL LAW contained in the Ten Commandments, and enforced by the prophets, He did not take away .... The moral law stands on an entirely different foundation from the ceremonial or ritual law .... Every part of this law must remain in force upon all mankind and in all ages.
My question again is this: why is the FOURTH commandment thrown out by most of the Christian world?
If as you said in an earlier reply, "God DOESN'T CARE AT ALL WHICH DAY we set aside to worship Him and rest from our works because this is how we are supposed to live every day (Colossians 2:16-17). If we have entered into His rest, then we have entered and are living in His Sabbath (Hebrews 4:1-11). If we still think the Sabbath is just one particular day, then we have not entered into His rest". IF that is true, then why would God have put that special day into the Ten Commandments? And if, as YOU say--"God doesn't care which day we set aside to worship Him", then what is the harm in resting on the 7th day--the day He himself rested after his labour of creation week? Mark 2:27-28 says that the Son of Man (Christ) is Lord also of the Sabbath--doesn't say anything about Him doing away with it. BECAUSE I have accepted Christ as my Saviour, I will follow Him alone, and his guidelines for a pure and holy life (Ten Commandments as the Moral Laws of The Father, The Son, The Holy Spirit)...because HE is author and CENTER of each one of those commandments. If God says "Remember to keep the Sabbath holy..." then He is to be obeyed and takes precedence over all others who think to change what He has given.
God NEVER said to keep Sunday holy...it is just another day in the week. "Six days shalt thou labour, but the seventh day is the SABBATH of the Lord thy God"...this is not an apostasy, it is biblical--Genesis to Revelation.
Even though I find serious flaws in your theology, I do pray that God will bless your ministry and lead you in your walk with Him.

    1. Hi Tina,

Thank you for taking the time to comment. You say, "no amount of 'following the law' strictly saves us." My friend, no amount of following the law saves us at all, let alone strictly (Rom. 3:28, 4:14, 9:32, Gal. 2:16, 3:11-25; Phil. 3:9). The SDA tries to tie salvation with following the law and such is unbiblical. Following the law will not save you; only being perfected by following Christ will (Matt. 19:16-22).

You have stated your understanding, but what does the Scripture say? The word of God is at odds with your testimony.

** The entire Old Testament - including the law - are "shadows" pointing to Jesus (Col. 2:17; Luke 24:27, 44; John 5:39-46; I Pet. 1:10-11), but Christ is the end of the law for all who believe (Rom. 10:4; John 1:17; Acts 13:39; Gal. 3:24-25).

** The law was not "verbal" from the beginning of creation before it was given to Moses. Those outside of Israel did not have the law because God did not give it to them, verbally or in any other form (Rom. 2:12-14; Psalm 147:20). Notice that in Deu. Chap. 4, Moses speaks to Israel about their need to keep the law, and he says in verse 32:

"For ask now of the days that are past, which were before thee, since the day that God created man upon the earth, and ask from the one side of heaven unto the other, whether there hath been any such thing as this great thing is, or hath been heard like it?"

From the very beginning - since God had created man - there had never been a time when God had shared these statutes with man in any form.

** The law was not given for all peoples, but for the Israelites specifically (Lev. 26:46, 27:34; Deu. 4:7-8, 4:45, 5:1-6; Rom. 2:14-17, 3:2, 9:4; Mal. 4:4; Neh. 9:14; ) because God had to ensure that there would be a non-pagan people through which He could bring forth His Son. Notice as well that Scripture says God has not dealt with "any other nation" as He has with Israel in terms of giving them His word & statutes (Psalm 147:19-20). Nor is the law the standard for Christian living (Gal. 4:30, 5:22-23; II Cor. 3:7-11).

I am certain that you find serious flaws in what has been shared here because the words of Scripture do not support what you have been taught. If, as you claim, you desire for your doctrine to be based upon the Scriptures, then you will have to acknowledge the error of much of what you have stated.

I can only suggest that you seek wisdom from the Lord and not rely on man's interpretations. The whole counsel of God reproves much of what you have shared. While the articles linked to in posts above may help in your studies, everything should always be measured against Scripture. I pray that your love for the truth will cause you to take an honest review of God's word in these matters.

  36. This debate could continue until the second coming. Here's the way I view the matter.

I believe that all true Christians try to live their lives in accordance with the commandments of God (at least 9 of them anyway). The only commandment that is the point of contention within the Christian community seems to be the 4th. And that's what leads me to believe it will play a very important role at some future time.

Nobody here will argue that we shouldn't murder, commit adultery or bear false witness against each other, nor should we place anyone or anything above or before God.

Why then do Christians argue over the 4th commandment?

Does the owner of this blog suggest that those who observe the 7th day Sabbath will be lost because they are hung up on the law? Is she suggesting that people show their belief by not observing the Sabbath?

People on both sides of this argument are being a little judgemental because each is questioning the others motives and salvation based on their own interpretation of the Bible.

Anyone with knowledge of the scriptures can use it to "prove" their position. The bottom line is that you should study the word of God for yourselves, asking for guidance from the Holy Spirit to lead you to the truth.

The Ten Commandments can be summarized by following the Bible verse that tells us to love the Lord out God with all of our hearts and our neighbors as we love ourselves. Follow that with the verse in Matthew that says - if you live me, keep my commandments. We show our love for God by doing our best to be obedient to His law. We are not saved by such, rather we are showing our love for Him.

A good analogy to show what I mean is marriage. I can be faithful to my spouse out of love and respect for her, or I can be faithful to her out of fear that she will divorce me or out of fear that I will get caught cheating.

There are some Christians, Adventists in particular, who think that keeping the law will earn them salvation. On the other hand, there are Adventists who do their best to obey the Ten Commandments out of love and respect for their Saviour.

For the author if this blog to suggest that the Seventh Day Adventist church is a cult because they strive to be obedient to God is reckless and judgemental.

I've read posts here from people who are bitter toward the SDA church and I'm sorry you were hurt or mistreated in that denomination. I'm sure that every church has similar situations.

I am a 4th generation Seventh-Day Adventist and never ever have I had Ellen G. White crammed down my throat as so many of my Adventist friends had done to them by well meaning parents and teachers. My family always held up the Holy Bible as the source for our beliefs.

I find E.G. White's writings to be in teresting and even relevant in regards to health and lifestyle decisions. That said, the Bible is the only book that can be trusted in regards to spiritual matters.

So what should it matter to the author of this blog whether or not I chose to observe the seventh day Sabbath? It is a choice I've made because I love God and want to honor Him that way. Nuff said.

Now stop using the sword of the scriptures to beat each other over the head. We are all brothers and sisters in Christ. Don't you think Satan loves to see you all bickering amongst each other? Sure he does.

Stop arguing on this site and get to studying the word of God and be sure to pray before you open the word and ask for the Holy Spirit to guide you in your sincere search for truth.

    1. What's up, Doc? Sorry, couldn't resist.

Scripture should settle any matter for those who belong to God. Unless God's word is the focus, then conversation is in vain. I am not surprised by how very few use Scriptures to substantiate what they believe, but not doing so is a surefire way to deception.

I by no means argue over the 4th commandment; such is a non-issue. It is your colleagues and yourself who do so. People are free to fellowship on Saturday or any day for God no longer commands worship on a "day" (Col. 2:16-23). Rather, we are to worship Him every day in spirit and in truth.

Yes, the SDA arguments over the law is indeed a "hang up". It blinds its adherents from seeing Christ, just as it did the Jews (II Cor. 3:12-16). This is why the 10 commandments are called the "ministration of death", for the letter kills (II Cor. 3:7-8).

If only the issues with SDA were limited to erroneous views on the law alone, but the errors run much deeper as explained in the videos. According to the Scriptures, all will be damned who do not turn in faith to Christ to be born again. The only hope for those blinded from Christ by a misapplication of the law is for them to turn their whole hearts to Christ, "Nevertheless when it [their hearts] shall turn to the Lord, the vail shall be taken away." II Cor. 3:16 There is a way to use the law lawfully, but it is not by trying to place Christians under it in direct violation of the Scriptures.

Just because some misuse & pervert Scripture does not mean there is not a way to "rightly divide" God's word (II Tim. 2:15). God's word is truth, and people had better seek that vs. some private interpretation if they want to know God and be known by Him. There is absolutely nothing wrong with judging the correctness of doctrine and we are exhorted by God to do so.

Ellen White never has to be named for her false doctrines are the foundation of SDA's teachings. Those who are in this organization are poisoned as her deceptions are taught as biblical truth. It doesn't matter if you find her writings interesting, if they are at odds with the word of God then they are nothing but interesting lies.

I am not willing to join in some psuedo peace by pretending that error is truth, and neither should any who love God.

"(For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;) Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord. And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them." Ephesians 5:9-11

  37. PART 1:
Thank you for your reply, which I do appreciate. You have misunderstood much of what I had written, because this is not about SDA or whatever they say about salvation. My commentary on this site was ALWAYS about what the WHOLE scriptures say. You have failed to address my questions about the moral law of the Ten Commandments. In fact, you have totally avoided it. I want to go point by point as clarification so you will know where I am in agreement (my answers and questions will be in [ ], and where I would like answers for the sake of my own soul.
Thank you for taking the time to comment. You say, "no amount of 'following the law' strictly saves us." My friend, no amount of following the law saves us at all, let alone strictly (Rom. 3:28, 4:14, 9:32, Gal. 2:16, 3:11-25; Phil. 3:9). [I totally agree, and you have picked on one word ‘strictly’ because I did clearly state that ‘no amount of following the law saves us’]. The SDA tries to tie salvation with following the law and such is unbiblical. Following the law will not save you [I agree—this is not about SDA--I don’t care about them OR their doctrines, ONLY about biblical truth]; only being perfected by following Christ will (Matt. 19:16-22). [How are we perfected by Christ? I am very interested to know your view on this].
3:24-25). [I agree with this statement, so in what way is the word of God at odds with my testimony, since I am not in disagreement?]
** The law was not "verbal" from the beginning of creation before it was given to Moses. Those outside of Israel did not have the law because God did not give it to them, verbally or in any other form (Rom. 2:12-14; Psalm 147:20). Notice that in Deu. From the very beginning - since God had created man - there had never been a time when God had shared these statutes with man in any form. [Really? Are you saying that God didn’t teach Adam and Eve right from wrong in the garden of eden? If that is the case, then how did they know they had done wrong and sinned by eating from the tree of good and evil, that God had specifically told them to avoid? They were banished from the Garden of Eden and God placed cherubim and a flaming sword on the east side to keep them away from the tree of life (Gen 3: 23,24) because they disobeyed Him.]

I apologize for misunderstanding your comments, such was not my intent.

In order to make the most of both my and the reader's time, I try to keep comments on topic to the article. This article is not about the law, but about SDA doctrine. I understand that such may not be your interest, so I suggest that you peruse some of the articles on the blog about the law and we can engage in those discussions were relevant should you have additional comments/questions. One particular article you may want to read is: The Ministration of Death.

Please also let it be known, I do not address any items on this blog from a "I am right, you are wrong" perspective. However, I do seek to have all truth based in God's word, which God Himself declares we must do.

Here are some articles that address our perfection in Christ:

      Letter to the Hebrews

Sin is Past (particularly the video sermons by Pastor Zac Poonen at the end)

You said that Jesus is the "center" of the law. The Bible says that the law is a "shadow" of Christ. The shadow of a thing is never its substance; merely its reflection. In other words, one does not possess Christ just they have the law, which is implied by saying that Jesus is the "center" of the law. Upon what Scripture are you basing this statement?

First, let's deal with the Scriptures. The word of God repeatedly says that God did not give these statutes to any others prior to giving them to Israel (references listed in previous post). He specifically says that since the creation of man, no other people had been given these laws. Do you believe what God says in His word on this matter? Is not His word enough to settle this matter for you? If we have an understanding that is contrary to His word, then it is we who are wrong; it is we who need to change, right?

Yes, Adam & Eve disobeyed God, but they are not faulted by God of breaking the law because He had not given it to them. Where in Scripture does God say that Adam & Eve's sin was breaking the ten commandments?

This is a major point of misunderstanding with many about the law. Sin is more than just breaking the 10 commandments. You can be blameless in keeping the law and still be a sinner. Sin is "all" unrighteousness (I John 5:17). Jesus explores this in the sermon on the Mount (Matt. 5:21-48). Following the law cannot perfect us; if we are to be perfect then we must follow Christ as led by the Spirit (Matt. 19:16-22).

    2. Correction, the text above should say, "In other words, one does not possess Christ just because they have the law"

  38. PART 2:
3:7-11). [Really? There were no Israelites in Eden, however Adam and Eve were taught right from wrong by God. Therefore they knew what was right and how God wanted to be worshipped (by them obeying what He had requested).
So what about the Ten Commandments, are they not the standard for Christian living? The Ten Commandments, are a set of biblical laws relating to ethics and worship, which play a fundamental role in Judaism and Christianity. They include instructions to worship only God AND to keep the sabbath, and prohibitions against idolatry, blasphemy, murder, theft, and adultery. The Bible indicates the special status of the Ten Commandments among ALL other Old Testament laws, because of all the biblical laws and commandments, the Ten Commandments alone were "written with the finger of God" (Exodus 31:18). The Ten Commandments provide God's universal and timeless standard of right and wrong, unlike the other commandments in the Old Testament, which describe various duties and ceremonies such as the dietary laws and now unobservable rituals to be performed by priests in the temple. God gave these to Moses for health, and to govern the Israelites (NEVER for SALVATION)...the rituals performed by the priests were only to point to the Holy One of Israel (Messiah). Therefore, you are right that these were cancelled when Christ came and died on the cross for our sins and to save us. You are a Christian, therefore I know you would never advocate or preach that it is okay to practice idolatry, blasphemy, commit murder, steal, and commit adultery (or fornicate). Why then would you say that ‘the law is not the standard for Christian living’?]
I am certain that you find serious flaws in what has been shared here because the words of Scripture do not support what you have been taught. If, as you claim, you desire for your doctrine to be based upon the Scriptures, then you will have to acknowledge the error of much of what you have stated. [What you are espousing is new covenant theology which claims that ALL old covenant laws have been cancelled in favour of the law of Christ or new covenant law of the new testament. I do not believe that the Ten Commandments have been cancelled. Those who propose this view specifically with regard to the Ten Commandments are in error. ]
So my friend, I can only suggest that you also seek wisdom from the Lord yourself, and not rely on man's practices and interpretations. Take everything in the Scriptures and ask God to specifically guide you, so that you can also acknowledge your own errors. It is very important in these latter days that you base your entire theology upon the scriptures alone with Christ as the Centre of all of it, because both testaments testify of HIM—the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end.

    1. Hi Tina,

Again, Scripture repeatedly states that the law was given only for Israel. You can believe God or go with your own understanding which is against God's word. Nowhere in Scripture does God say that He held Adam & Eve accountable for breaking the 1o commandments. They were blamed for disobeying God, because sin is much bigger than the law.

The Scriptures themselves state that the law is not the standard for Christian living. Again, I suggest you review the blog articles on the law. Better yet, read the Book of Romans, the Book of Galatians, the Book of Hebrews... Nothing is more clear and final than the word of God itself. When we come to Christ, we have no need of a schoolmaster.

It is interesting that you would encourage me to consider all of Scripture, yet when Scripture directly refutes your beliefs, you ignore it. When God's word shows unequivocally that much of what you have said is false, you choose instead to hold on to your beliefs at the expense of God's truths. Do you not notice this dichotomy?

God states multiple times that He has not given His law to any other people, yet you insist that He has. God states repeatedly that the law was only for Israel, yet you say it was for everyone. I must refer to what I stated earlier, if a belief is not based in Scripture, then it is not truth and is a lie.

I have no doubt to your sincerity, but one can have a zeal that is not in line with knowledge of truth (Rom. 10:2). I assure you that I will continue to seek and share all truth as revealed in God's word, and I pray that you will do the same.

Lastly, as I stated before, this article is not about the law, but about the SDA institution. If you wish to comment further on this post, please stay to that topic or find and comment on other blog articles that are relevant to the law.

      Thanks

    1. Thank God that your husband is coming to know Jesus Christ. As you say, that is the most important thing.

One thing we must all have is a love of the truth. There is no way that we can claim to love & serve God and yet have a complete disregard for His truth. In fact, we cannot love our brethren if we don't also love the truth (I Peter 1:22; I John 5:2).

It is interesting that God also makes a strong connection between the law and love.

"Now the END of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned: From which some having swerved have turned aside unto vain jangling; Desiring to be teachers of the law; understanding neither what they say, nor whereof they affirm. But we know that the law is good, if a man use it lawfully; Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine." I Timothy 1:5-10

According to God, the presence of His pure love in our hearts is what brings an end to the commandment/law. May God continue to direct our hearts into His love, which is only found in Christ Jesus.

      God Bless

  40. Thank you for writing this article. This deception almost got me when I first became a Christian - and likes to test me again every now and then.

The people are deceived and I need to remember that when I deal with them, but the lie itself is something I hate because it produces self-righteous Christ deniers that don't understand why Jesus DIED and why some Jews, that we are told were 'zealous' for the things of God, were still cast off.

  42. I would like to post a comment in regards to EGW saying she did not plagarised because there were no such laws back in those days. I beg to differ and give proof. Let's start with the 10 commandments.
    1. # 8 states, "thou shalt not steal"
Isn't that the very thing EGW did? Steal others words and claim them as her own, which is the same thing as stealing someone's baby and claiming it as your own.
    2. God states in Jeremiah 23:30-32 ""Therefore," declares the LORD, "I am against the prophets who steal from one another words supposedly from me. 31 Yes," declares the LORD, "I am against the prophets who wag their own tongues and yet declare, 'The LORD declares.'32 Indeed, I am against those who prophesy false dreams," declares the LORD. "They tell them and lead my people astray with their reckless lies, yet I did not send or appoint them. They do not benefit these people in the least," declares the LORD."
Didn't EGW do this very thing? Say her words are from the Lord?
My husband and I sent Dwight Nelson an email in regards to his DVD he published on Ellen White, called Ellen White, and what about her critics. In this video he tries to reconcile why she plagarised and how it could be ok. We asked in in a polite way if she didnt plagarise, then why does the bible say... and I gave him the two reasonings I listed above. He finally answered us back after 2 or 3 weeks but not once did he give us an answer about the proof straight from the bible that we had quoted and instead said she was inspired to plagarise. Why would GOD go against His own laws? The word plagarized is a legal term and did not exist during her time so Dwight says this is why it was ok for her to do so. Well, The Word of God says otherwise.

    1. Hi Anonymous,

That is interesting indeed. One of the videos in the article discusses how Ellen White plagiarized many of her writings.

The terrifying part of it is how far man is willing to go - even to the point of perverting God's word - to hold on to what we are comfortable with versus being confronted with truth and having to walk out of that comfort zone. I remember being in a bible study once and I read a particular Scripture. One of the attendees - also a professing Christian - stated, "If that is true then I am not a Christian! That cannot be true." They proceeded then to twist God's word in an effort to convince themselves that they were still Christians so that they did not have to face the truth. Man can never acknowledge the truths of what is in the word of God until we are ready to forsake all for Christ.

Lord help us all to turn our whole hearts to Him and not cling to any idols. We can surely take no idols with us in our communion with Him; their mere presence in our lives prevents the type of reconciliation we need to be saved.

Thank you so much for sharing this!

  43. I pray that you dont follow the wrong spirit. The Bible gives at least four tests of a prophet. I have not heard one of them yet. Follow the Bible's guide, not the enemy's. He will do whatever he has to do to keep people from the truth. In other words, are the words that are being judged, Truth? Is it speaking according to the Bible?

The writings that are being mentioned, the majority have less than 0.9% literary borrowing per book. Some a little more, some a little less...but borrowed from each other in those days because they were sharing truth. Ministers do the same today when they share truth. When you look at the person's heart, they just want to share truth. But the crying over 0.9% of literary borrowing of truth, does not sound like the Holy Spirit's working.

Use the Bible's guide. Find the four tests of a prophet in God's word, and let God's word judge.

    God bless,

    Mark

PS The Great Controversy has as much as 15% of literary borrowing mostly because its a book that contains a great deal of historical data.

    1. Hi Mark,

If you believe that the Bible gives additional evidences of a prophet than what has been stated here, please feel free to share them.

However, let's keep this simple. Scriptures have already been shown showing that if a person proclaims, "Thus saith the Lord..." and their words do not come to pass, then such is a false prophet who is not speaking the words of God. The Scriptures also state that anyone who teaches doctrine contrary to the Scriptures does not have the light of God within them.

Ellen White is guilty on both of these accounts. She gave various prophecies which failed to come true. She also taught doctrine that is in direct opposition to Scripture. If you do not know these things, then please see the videos above.

So it really doesn't matter if we examine 4, 14, or 40 additional Scriptures. Such cannot change the fact that Ellen White has made numerous failed prophecies and taught many unbiblical doctrines. Even without additional texts, she meets the mark for what God calls a false prophet who should not be heeded.

When all this comes true - and it surely will - then they will know that a prophet has been among them.” Ezekiel 33:33

“The Lord was with Samuel as he grew up, and he let none of his words fall to the ground. And all Israel from Dan to Beersheba recognized that Samuel was attested as a prophet of the Lord.” 1 Samuel 3:19

"To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them." Isaiah 8:20

  44. Hello my brother,

Due to my schedule, I really did not have the time to sit and watch the videos. But we’re all brethren, and did my best to make the time. I did so prayerfully. Very shortly into it, I saw the spirit involved. This is going to be difficult to keep short, but I will do my best.

First of all the video says the church doesn’t use its name in certain literature and tracts that go out. First of all that is not 100% true, but Im still trying to figure out the issue here. Did Christ walk around with a big sign saying He was a Jew? The main objective is to present God…to present Christ and His righteousness. I will admit there are a bunch of Adventists who do not focus on that. Instead they are focused on the law, health message, etc. Some are not even focused on that; they just come to church every week because their parents did. All of those messages are ok, but it has to be Christ first. They will follow Christ on their own. Every last one of those doctrines were at the CROSS, ie: Health message when Christ refused to take something to ease pain because He didn’t want it to alter His thinking; The Beatitudes were exemplified on the cross; He kept the Sabbath on the cross; The state of the dead when He told Mary He had not gone up to His Father yet, etc…they are all there. But the thing is beholding Him, and we become changed. If we TRULY do so, He works a miracle in our lives for true conversion. A lot of people in the Advent church have their minds elsewhere instead of beholding Him. They are beholding the world and other churches (the same way physical Israel were checking out the Midianites before crossing the Jordan). Anyway, the day is coming when there will be select few standing, a remnant that will be faithfully focused on a relationship with Christ. But with all the deception out there, it wont be easy…for if it were possible, even the very elect would be deceived. In the end, the just shall live by faith.

In the video, David Snyder says Sis White, along with Miller, was wrong about the Day of Atonement being on Oct 22, 1844. First of all, God wasn’t even using Sis White prophetically prior to the Great Disappointment. But even so, Miller reckoned the Day of Atonement based on the Karaite Jews. That was because the Rabbanite Jews went according to traditions of the Talmud(sp) and scripture. Whereas the Karaite Jews went on scripture alone. Even today people ‘reckon’ the actual Jubilee years and the dates they fall on… But that’s another discussion. Anyway, Snyder was incorrect which tells me the true spirit behind this…. Ironically the name of the video.

Then Snyder talks about how Sis White was in a hopeless condition for months after the Great Disappointment. Where does he get this from? The Holy Spirit or another spirit? Can you show me anywhere in her writings where she says that? I remember reading they were disappointed, ‘but not disheartened’. That didn’t sound like she was hopeless to me.

The video mentions the 1843 chart. Interestingly enough I heard a sermon about this on a prayer call a couple of weeks ago. God in His wisdom knows why He shields information from time to time. Like when the disciples wanted to know more about His second coming. There was an immense amount of information Christ held back. A stronger example is when Christ walked and talked with the 2 strangers after resurrection morning. They thought He was a complete stranger. It wasn’t later when they supped that their eyes were ‘opened’…Luke 24:31 as to who He was. There was so much eye opening truth coming at that time, that only God knows when we’re ready for it. Miller, while a great preacher, was wrong about that date, mostly because he was wrong about the 2520 prophecy. The 2520 is not mentioned in Sis White’s writings or the Bible. (Again, that 2520 is another topic.)

    ReplyDelete
  45. Snyder then says the church takes the stance that Sis White is the “absolute authority figure” and the “last word on doctrine”. Lol (Sorry) But I knew there was an agenda after hearing that. I can tell you as a PK for 30 years with a traveling ministry and not just a venting local church pastor, that Christ is the authority figure, and HE, His character and righteousness is the ONLY Word on doctrine. But we recognize Pro 29:18 that where this is no vision, the people perish. Even Sis White herself calls her writings the lessor light. Again, compare the words to the Bible.
Then Cleveland said Sis White mentioned that some felt they had to go back to Jerusalem before Jesus came back. She said no, Old Jerusalem wont be built like that again. She was talking about the same thing Rom 11:17-20 is talking about. Its not about physical Isreal now. Its about spiritual Isreal.
Cleveland also says Sis White foretold she will be with the living when Christ comes. First of all, was just expressing a vision which is what prophets do. It is no different than what Paul saw in vision in 1 Thess 1 Thessalonians 4:16, 17, when he said: “For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then ‘we’ which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord”. No one is questioning Paul on that.
Unfortunately, time does not allow me to examine someone else who is looking at volumes and volumes of work, just to try and nitpick here and nitpick there.
We are all brothers and sisters. The bottom line is reflecting Christ… seeing Him and Him crucified -What He went through for us. If we are getting closer to Him on a daily basis, guess what?... eventually, we become more like Him. .. and we will see that as we get closer. I pretty sure Heaven is not going to be a divided place of so-called Christian believers – some doing what they want here, and others doing otherwise. That reminds me of Cain and Able. No, whatever Christ is… whatever He represents, will be what His followers will represent. If our practices on this earth are not in sync with the rest of the universe, then in time, as we get closer, all will be revealed. The universe will one day be a great haven of love from corner to corner…all reflecting His character of love. Everyone will see that….. Even for those lost, the Bible says every knee shall bow. Everyone will eventually see Christ’s character.
Oh... Christ did not come here to tear down other people. Thats not the Holy Spirit. There's another spirit who loves it when people who are supposed to be following Christ do that. The enemy absolutely LOVES it. But Christ didnt do it. Christ came to love and point to the Father. Thats how people came to Christ...not because He had an agenda with groups of people on this planet.

Love you guys.. God bless. (Sorry it wasnt shorter)

    1. Hi Anonymous,

No concern about the length of your posts. I appreciate that you have taken the time to share your thoughts.

I cannot say that we are "all" brethren; and that is not about SDA specifically. Many professing Christians (SDA or not) are simply not what they claim to be. As such, I never make such blanket statements, so please pardon me if I cannot agree with you there. I am sure however that there are true brethren in SDA, as there is in all of Babylon.

I can personally attest to the fact that the SDA is not always forthcoming about the resources they disseminate. The Jehovah's Witnesses - which is a splinter group from SDA - does the same thing (Charles Taze Russell began printing The Watchtower within 2 months of leaving his association with the Adventists).

The issue here is one of deception. Who a message is from is of great significance because it speaks to its inspiration, intent, & credibility. In the wilderness when the Scripture was quoted to Jesus, did it make any difference whatsoever that the one quoting it was Satan? Absolutely! No one would say that Satan should have been heeded just because the Scriptures are true. He had the wrong spirit and was trying to use the Scriptures to bind Jesus & lead Him away from the Father. Even the wrong spirit can quote truth, but there is always that seed of perversion mixed in because it is not inspired by God.

Look also to the Apostles. They didn't write letters to the early Church anonymously. The strength of their message was emboldened by the testimony of their lives, so that people could judge whether it was to be received as truth (I Cor. 4:1-2; II Cor. 2:17).

"Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not; But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God." II Cor. 4:1-2

How can the messenger be "commended to every man's conscience" if the messenger is unknown? Even the Scriptures tell us that ministry work which is not above board and openly communicated is "dishonest". So one would have to wonder why SDA would choose to hide such information.

    2. Anonymous Response Cont.

What is posted here is no indictment against SDA adherents. As I stated before, the false is often mixed in with the true and it will be so until the harvest (Matthew 13:24-30). Rather, this post is about the heretical teachings & prophecies upon which SDA doctrine is based.

If a prophecy is as you say "wrong", then is it not in error to continue validating it? This is what Ellen White did, even going so far as supporting extrabiblical doctrine to continue propagating this false prophecy (the investigative judgment). She even claimed this belief is required for salvation (The Great Controversy, 488–89).

"We believe the revelation and inspiration of both the Bible and Ellen White's writings to be of equal quality." SDA Ministry Magazine

One thing we know, God is never wrong in any way. If Miller's prophecy was wrong, then it did not come from God (Deut. 18:19-22; Jer. 28:9; Eze. 33:33). For Ellen White to continue to sign off on that prophecy and use it and other false visions as the basis for doctrine illustrates that her efforts were also not inspired by God. God does not cause nor endorse error (Num. 23:19).

In Testimonies, Vol. 5, pp. 63-67, Ellen White states, "I am presenting to you that which the Lord has presented to me. I do not write one article in the paper expressing merely my own ideas. They are what God has opened before me in vision — the precious rays of light shining from the throne."

Friend, whether by vision, direct revelation, or any other means, if someone asserts that a prophetic word is from the Lord - and it fails to come true - such person is a false prophet. If someone teaches doctrine that is at odds with Scripture, it is because the light of God is not in them (Isaiah 8:20). This is what the Bible says.

At the end of the day, the issue is not about SDA members, Ellen White, or even David Snyder. It is about Jesus Christ and His truths. All doctrine must be based in Scripture alone (II Tim. 3:16; Isaiah 8:20; John 17:17; I Peter 4:11). Anything that opposes or contradicts Scripture is a satanic lie and a deception.

The SDA has promoted various false prophecies: the return of Jesus Christ in 1844; the shut door; that Ellen White would be one of the 144,000 saints on earth at Jesus' return; that those alive in 1856 would be alive at Jesus' return; that the Jews would never again return to Israel...

They have also promoted belief in doctrines that directly contradict Scripture: investigative judgment; no eternal hell for sinners; Jesus' continuing atonement for man's sin & the insufficiency of his death on the cross; Sabbath as God's "greatest commandment"; the Sabbath as God's seal on the believer instead of the Spirit; Sunday worship as the mark of the beast; Jesus as Michael the archangel; that Ellen White's writings are equal to Scripture; the law as ruling authority over believers; that we can know the date of Jesus' return; forbidding the eating of meats; soul sleep...

This and only this is the issue at hand. Alignment with false prophecies and teaching of false doctrines.

Love & Truth are synonymous; you cannot have one without the other, and God is both. You cannot forsake truth for the sake of love for you will wind up with neither.

"Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee." I Timothy 4:16

    3. Interestingly enough, we received in the mail yesterday an invite to a Bible Study series called, "Unlocking Revelation". This is the exact same type of mailing I saw many years ago which almost ensnared me. Just as then, the mailing has absolutely no reference to the SDA organization which sponsors these meetings. You can even go to the website promoting these seminars nationwide and there is still no acknowledgement that they are SDA. The SDA as an organization is still using deception as a means of winning converts.

Jesus tells His believers to be a light on the hill and not place their light under a bushel (i.e. do not hide it). There is nothing about faith in Christ which has to be hidden or kept secret in order to draw men to the truth. The only ones doing this are ones promoting deception.

Be aware that in these last days, people will even use the word of God deceitfully in order to deter you from the truth. Stay in God's word and let Him reveal and conform you to His truth by His Spirit.

  46. Have mercy! I just read this for the first time and it's amazing how many people are defending the filth that Ellen White promoted. Bottom line is this. It's false and a delusion! She got her info from evil spirits and even bought into freemasonry. Seventh Day Adventism and Jehovah's Witnesses both derived from the same Adventist Movement in the 1800's. They both believe that Jesus is Michael the Arch Angel (That right there is enought to make one run away from it because it preaches another Jesus which means it's another gospel with another spirit). Ellen's Husband was a free mason and she took on alot of his beliefs and combined it with her version of adventism. Notice that JW's and SDA's and Mormons all have free masonry in common with their founders. Ellen also falsely prophecied on many occasions. She is not to be trusted nor the lies she preached. Her doctrines are the doctrines of devils and they bind people to law and religion and not free them in the liberty of the biblical Jesus through relationship with the true and living God and His Christ

    1. Hi Kgore,

You are so right! There are 73 comments on this one post, and why? Most trying to defend the wickedness espoused by the SDA. And that doesn't even consider the numerous comments I could not approve.

It does break my heart to see people swallowed up by delusion, but I must keep the following in mind. God's word is truth. Everyone who seeks after righteousness shall find it. Those who don't seek after righteousness won't. Therefore, there is no need to argue or debate. Let the truth be plainly put forth, let the errors be exposed, and let each person do as it seems fit for them. That is the extent of our obligation in preaching the Gospel.

May God continue to give grace in opening our eyes to truth so that we can repent of every delusion and lie in Jesus' name.

I know the SDA's and their JW brethren have probably shot all sorts of darts at you for posting this one but you have definitely planted seeds of truth with it. I'm glad there is balance here. Most expose just for the sake of exposing and so on but this was in the spirit of bringing people to the truth and that's what it's all about. Time is running out and it's time for people to fill their lamps with oil and get on the Jesus Ark. May the Lord keep you, heal you, and use your life to glorify Him.

  47. Please note that Charles Taze Russel didn't split from the SDA but they both (JW's and SDA's) stemmed from William Miller's group and he was delusional and "prophe-lied" falsely about the end of the world. I have a cousin that is a staunch JW and he was telling me that many SDA's become JW's and vice versa but it's because the teachings are so similar (familiar spirit). Truly the SDA's are more subtle than the JW's. They are lower on the radar which to me makes them just as bad as JW's if not worse because many times you will talk to them and you really have to be discerning because they speak "christianese" (church talk) really well but the whole time they are talking to you they are concealing their true agenda which is to slide false doctrine to you to agree with and then win you over to their church. Sad stuff but these are definitely the end times.
