Where Was the Love?

Where was the love when Jesus....
Called the Pharisees and Sadducees whited sepulchres who were full of dead men's bones and uncleaness?

Hypocrites full of extortion and excess?

A generation of vipers who may not escape the damnation of hell?

Children of the devil?

Where was the love when Jesus....
Told the man to let the dead bury the dead after he asked time to go bury his father?

Where was the love when Jesus....
Took a whip and chased the money changers out of the temple?

Where was the love when Jesus....
Denied the request of his mother & brethren saying that those who do God's will are the same as his mother and brethren?

Where was the love when Jesus....
Called the woman asking deliverance for her daughter a dog?
Matthew 15:26

Where was the love when Jesus....
Called Peter Satan?
Mark 8:33

Love just isn't what most people think it is.

Jesus never sinned. He always did the will of the Father. Yet, not all of his actions might be considered "loving" if they were judged by how it made people feel.

Feelings fade. Emotions change. The heart is desperately wicked. When the way we feel is at odds with God's words, it is WE who need to change.

Love is not defined by feelings or even emotions. The only way to possess and demonstrate love - for God or others - is to obey the words of God.

"By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments." I John 5:2

"That thou mayest love the LORD thy God, and that thou mayest obey his voice, and that thou mayest cleave unto him: for he is thy life, and the length of thy days: that thou mayest dwell in the land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them." Deuteronomy 30:20
