Love just isn't what most people think it is.

Jesus never sinned. He always did the will of the Father. Yet, not all of his actions might be considered "loving" if they were judged by how it made people feel.

Feelings fade. Emotions change. The heart is desperately wicked. When the way we feel is at odds with God's words, it is WE who need to change.

Love is not defined by feelings or even emotions. The only way to possess and demonstrate love - for God or others - is to obey the words of God.

"By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments." I John 5:2

"That thou mayest love the LORD thy God, and that thou mayest obey his voice, and that thou mayest cleave unto him: for he is thy life, and the length of thy days: that thou mayest dwell in the land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them." Deuteronomy 30:20

  1. Amen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For it is written, Sprit begets Spirit, and flesh begets flesh. As hard as is for the body to be crucified and die, that is how hard it us to be in Jesus the Christ, and to crucify yourself daily. It doesn't "feel good:" the peace of God in Christ is not emotional, it is of the Spirit. To the flesh and the desires of the flesh, it is crucifixion.

There is no harder thing than this.
