And Adam Was NOT Deceived

"And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression." I Timothy 2:14

Have you ever wondered about this verse?  I have. When I first read it, I am sure my physical expression looked dumbfounded.  What in the world did it mean?

Didn't both Adam & Eve disobey God?  Yes.

Didn't they both eat of the forbidden fruit? Yes.

Didn't they both fall into sin?  Yes.

Then what distinction was God making here?
deceived: Greek word apataƍ meaning cheated, beguiled, deceived
Satan subtly tricked Eve into believing that his words were true.

"But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty..." Corinthians 11:3a

Yet Adam, who was with her, was not deceived (Genesis 3:6).  He knew that Satan was perverting God's words and knew that Satan's words were lies.

So that begs the question, why didn't Adam correct & stop Eve?  Why also did he partake of the forbidden fruit?  Knowing fully that such would bring death, why would Adam choose to follow Eve's error?  The answer is clear in God's judgement.

"And unto Adam he [God] said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife..." Genesis 3:17a

Adam had allowed Eve to take a place in his life that only God was supposed to have. It was more important for Adam to do as his wife asked than to stand for the truths of God...even to the point where he was willing to suffer the consequences of death just to be with her (Genesis 2:17).

This is why God judged Adam. It was not because Adam ate the forbidden fruit (although that was also sin). The sin for which God punished Adam was for worshiping Eve instead of God, hearkening to her words over His. Remember, you follow the dictates of whomever you worship.

"Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?" Romans 6:16

God took care to give Adam a help perfectly suited for him because there was none other in creation who could take that role (Genesis 2:20). Yet Adam began to prefer the comforts of the woman (her presence and physical form) over the disciplines of keeping the Garden as God's ambassador (Genesis 2:15).

Recently, I was speaking with some brothers and sisters in the Lord about how hard it seems to be for men to rise up and take their God-given place as the heads of their families and leaders in the church. We spoke of how the seductive power operating through women inspired by this Satanic invasion seems overwhelming and incapacitating to many men.  But God...

The Lord reminded me this morning that Adam was not deceived.  Men are not deceived when they submit to matriarchal authority, allowing it preeminence in their lives.  Rather, they just prefer the comforts of the flesh over the hardships of war.  As Jesus said, they prefer "soft things" (Luke 7:25).

Yet, as soon as men make up their minds to fight and reclaim their manhood, God will empower them to be victorious over this spiritual perversion!  It will be a warfare - both internally against your own fleshly lusts and externally against the matriarchal forces which bind - but, God will ensure the victory if you just go through the mechanics to weaken the flesh and build up your spirit.  The alternative is to continue to live under the curse of this fallen nature bringing death into your life, until you are ultimately condemned to Hell.

Consider this as well, God punished Eve for her actions, but never ties Eve's punishment to her sin. Just mull that over for a moment. God tells Satan, "Because thou hast done this..." God tells Adam, "Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife..."  Yet for Eve, He simply metes out the punishment with no reference to her sin.

God confronts only those who were created as patriarchs. Eve was responsible for her sin, but she was not accountable because God had given jurisdiction to Adam. Even though Satan and Adam were now in a fallen state, God still held them accountable for the sin.  It will be the same for every man who refuses to walk in patriarchal authority today.  God will not excuse it; He will hold you accountable not only for your own abdication, but for the resulting perversion and corruption it causes around you.

For all men who are tired of subjecting yourselves to unGodly authority and are ready to be the leaders God has created you to be, I highly recommend that you look into attending the Man Up Mountain Meeting.  It will be a time of individual dedication and consecration for men ready to take a stand for God in these last days.
