A Day of Celebration
The United States of America is about to inaugurate someone with African-American roots to the highest office in the land. It is at once remarkable and sad; remarkable because this is a first for the nation...and sad because this is a first for the nation.
A DAY OF CELEBRATION FOR AFRICAN-AMERICANS
Minorities watched this election with renewed interest and feelings of inclusion. For the first time, they could see a leader whose family resembled their own. Who can deny that African-Americans are continuing to break racial stereotypes and rebound from cultural genocides brought about by the inhumanity of slavery and the ideas of privilege which have had generational repercussions?
A DAY OF CELEBRATION FOR DEMOCRATS
The Democrats have successfully ended years of Republican domination, not only in the presidency, but in Congress. Obama helped to invigorate the Democratic party...especially amongst young voters. The Democratic Party is being reborn under a leadership that will bring about social change and reform.
A DAY OF CELEBRATION FOR AMERICA
Many were inspired by Obama's oratory, intelligence, and charisma. The Obamas are a beautiful family confirming the realities of the American Dream for many: everyone has the opportunity to achieve if they work for it. Even Obama's Administration brings to life our melting pot as men, women, Democrats, Republicans, Blacks, Asians, etc. put differences aside for the betterment of the country.
A DAY OF CELEBRATION FOR THE WORLD
Finally an international man with American, African, German, Indonesian, Muslim, Buddhist, and Christian roots, operating outside of the Caucasian, privileged, and paternalistic mindset of most American leadership. People around the world cheered and even enemies of this country are all stepping forward to proclaim how willing they are to work with Obama.
A DAY OF CELEBRATION FOR CHRISTIANS?
Is this a day of celebration for Christians? Given the change that this country needed and the fact that Obama will be our first Black president, why would any Christian NOT support Obama? And isn't Obama a Christian too?

I AM...Sasha Fierce

Here is a riddle for you. How does a nice, Christian girl become a whore, a witch, and a manslayer? The answer is she doesn't; someone else does. Are you confused yet? Well, just keep reading.
Beyonce has recently announced that she wants to be called Sasha Fierce. Fittingly, the name of her new album is, "I Am...Sasha Fierce". "So what?", you may ask, "That is just her stage name, all the stars do that." IS it just a stage name? Let's see what Beyonce has to say about it. [emphasis added by me]

The Beyonce Possession Video Series
This is a follow-up to the I Am Sasha Fierce post. You should really read that post first in order to understand the Scriptural basis for the assertions made in these videos.
The purpose of these videos is not to personally hold Beyonce up to ridicule. The purpose is to help people open their eyes to the amount of witchcraft and occult underpinnings of what most people call "entertainment."
It is especially a call to the Church to "Come out of Babylon", "separate from every unclean thing", and re-dedicate themselves to Jesus Christ.

A Journey in Faith Against Cancer - Part 5
This article is part of a series which might be better understood by starting at the first post.
The Victory That Overcometh the World
"For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous. For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?" (I John 5:3-5)
As I followed God's commands for treating my cancer with Protocel, the boundaries of my faith were tried. He showed me ways in which I was trusting the world and how this trust was limiting my faith in Him. Yet, as always, He proved Himself faithful.
Three months into my treatment with Protocel, I began my first round of follow-up monitoring. The cancer tumor marker tests for both types of cancer came back normal. There was no detectable evidence of any cancer in my blood! Even more surprising to my doctors, the secondary tumor they had found in my body was gone. A couple of months later, I had my first follow-up diagnostic mammogram. That also came back clean and the radiologist gave me a "clean bill of health".

A Journey in Faith Against Cancer - Part 4
This article is part of a series which might be better understood by starting at the first post.
Pistis Means Having Faith AND Being Faithful
The word often translated as "faith" in the New Testament is the Greek word "pistis". Strong's Concordance definition states:
1) conviction of the truth of anything, belief; in the NT of a conviction or belief respecting man's relationship to God and divine things, generally with the included idea of trust and holy fervour born of faith and joined with it
2) fidelity, faithfulness
When people speak of having faith in Christ, they often make it appear to be a one-way street. They use it to express their beliefs about God and what He will do for them. But embodied in the word Pistis is not just our belief in God, but our simultaneous faithfulness to Him. In fact, I would venture to say that you cannot have one without the other. IF you have faith in God (believe He is who He is), then you WILL be faithful to Him (obey what He says).

A Journey in Faith Against Cancer - Part 3
This article is part of a series which might be better understood by starting at the first post.
Growing In Faith Through Obedience
Recently, I was in a conversation with a co-worker about the 2008 presidential election. I indicated that I was not a supporter of Barack Obama's and stated that one major reason was his unfettered support of abortion. I told her I could not support abortion under any circumstances.
My co-worker then said, "What if it was your daughter? What if the doctors said that having this baby would kill her and you had to choose between the life of your daughter and her baby?"
Dismissing the fact that less than 1% of abortions are performed for such catastrophic situations, I thoughtfully considered her comment. "Well," I said, "Don't forget, you are speaking to someone who doctors said would surely die if I did not have chemo and radiation. One thing this experience has shown me is that I don't have to be afraid to obey what God says. His mind is above the mind of man and He is all-powerful. I know that He can override all that the world has to say when we obey Him."
