But A Sword

Think Not

"Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. And a man's foes shall be they of his own household." Matthew 10:34-36

Too many times, our ideas about God stem from the corrupt desires in our own hearts. We make God into someone who justifies our feelings and does what we want Him to do. The same standard people use to define "love" in the world is applied to God: If it caters to what I like, what I think, and what I want - if it exalts me and makes me feel good - then it is God.

This is a false understanding. God says that love is obedience to His commands; anything else is counterfeit. Love has absolutely nothing to do with how something makes you feel. We must walk away from our perceptions about God that have no basis in truth; and this is one such notion.

Be Gone Ye Synagogue of Satan!

"I fear we are spending too much time and effort attempting to break down the walls of the Synagogues of Satan, instead of seeking God for the return of the Testimony of Jesus -- the holy Ark of His Presence, the Light of the Seven Spirits that shine from the Seven Eyes of the Lamb." George Warnock, Seven Lamps of Fire

Oftentimes, when there is the story of a brave, defiant fighter going up against a colossal, powerful enemy, he is depicted as having his fists upraised & shaking in the air as he yells at this seemingly invincible foe.

This has become the image of much of the modern churchworld. Christians are spending inordinate amounts of time shaking their fists at the devil, but producing little fruit. Now, don't get me wrong, we are called to reprove works of darkness (Ephesians 5:11). But that alone will save no one.

Why I Don't Care What You Think

...And You Shouldn't Care What I Think

Do you know that I will not go to Heaven based on what you believe? And you will not go to Hell based on what I believe? Each person is individually accountable to the Lord for his or her own life.

Yet, many in the churchworld spend most of their time trying to convince others to believe as they do. There is a difference between man's convincing and the Holy Spirit's conviction - and only one of the two brings forth life unto salvation.

"Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves." Matthew 23:15

You Are the Salt, Not the Sugar Candy

A Diabetic Church

The following article from Charles Spurgeon entitled "Feeding Sheep or Amusing Goats" addresses the topic of the Gospel and the pattern God sets for how it is to be preached.

Although this was written well over a century ago, it is - sad to say - completely relevant for today as some claim entertainment to be the draw which brings people to Jesus Christ. From assertions that we must "talk like the world to draw the lost" to saying that the church must "take over the entertainment industry", much of the churchworld has lost its purpose and is becoming side-tracked in religious works that are neither Scriptural nor fruit-bearing.

A Mother's Prayer

Dedicated to My Children

For my beautiful children, I cannot help but think of you on Mother's Day. I promise to do my best by the grace of God to guide you in this life. It is my hope that you will love and seek the Lord always. Never let my human frailties & imperfection cause you to doubt that I love you more than life itself.

May the words of this prayer be fulfilled in your life as God gives me the joy of seeing His plan for your life unfold.

Happy Mother's Day

"Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward." Psalm 127:3

As the nation prepares to honor mothers, I felt it appropriate to speak of those who believe motherhood to be the worse curse a woman could suffer. Those who attest that the gift of a child is a burden, and it is somehow more noble and righteous to protect a woman's right to self-interest than the life of the unborn child. After all, should a woman become pregnant, it is only fair that she not be "punished with a baby for that mistake", as President Obama has said.

The ultimate irony is that many - blinded by a desire to put themselves first at all costs - have been made pawns in a movement that has nothing to do with reproductive rights. Being drawn by their own selfish lusts, they actively fight for a cause which - at its heart - seeks their own destruction through ethnic cleansing, eugenics, and ultimately spiritual death.

A Word of Praise for My Creator King
