Be Gone Ye Synagogue of Satan!

"I fear we are spending too much time and effort attempting to break down the walls of the Synagogues of Satan, instead of seeking God for the return of the Testimony of Jesus -- the holy Ark of His Presence, the Light of the Seven Spirits that shine from the Seven Eyes of the Lamb." George Warnock, Seven Lamps of Fire

Oftentimes, when there is the story of a brave, defiant fighter going up against a colossal, powerful enemy, he is depicted as having his fists upraised & shaking in the air as he yells at this seemingly invincible foe.

This has become the image of much of the modern churchworld. Christians are spending inordinate amounts of time shaking their fists at the devil, but producing little fruit. Now, don't get me wrong, we are called to reprove works of darkness (Ephesians 5:11). But that alone will save no one.

For each satanic deception that is exposed, Satan can easily spin up dozens more to take its place. In fact, he could keep people so busy running after his evil schemes, that they never fulfill the commission God has given us. We should not be ignorant of the enemy's devices, but at the same time, such is not our primary focus.

Even on this site, you will see topics addressing evils in the world and in the churchworld. However, there must be more than that. Eventually, all the talking of the false, the heretical, the hypocritical, the deceitful just becomes redundant. It simply doesn't produce life.

I am reminded of the article I did on Beyonce and the spirit behind Sasha Fierce. Since that time, many have come asking me to do exposés on other entertainers. What about Rihanna? Christina Aguilera? Miley Cyrus? My question is, "What purpose would that serve?" At the end of the day, all of the information on the Illuminati, freemasons, world bankers, political ills, religious Babylon, etc. all point to one truth: The whole world lies in wickedness.

Once you know that outside of Christ there is confusion, deception, debauchery, and every evil work...what more is there to discuss about it? My fear is that even the examination of the foolishness of the world (including much of the churchworld) has started to become entertainment to the church. On the contrary, such ought to compel us more fervently into the presence of God so that He may be seen in this dieing world.

I believe we sometimes forget who & what it is that delivers people from the god of this world. It is the preaching of the Kingdom.

"Since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus, and of the love which ye have to all the saints, for the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, whereof ye heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel; Which is come unto you, as it is in all the world; and bringeth forth fruit, as it doth also in you, since the day ye heard of it, and knew the grace of God in truth.

...For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness; Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son." Colossians 1:4-6; 9-13

As Christians, where should our primary energies be focused? What is going to bring in the most harvest? What is everyone's protection against heresy? It is being translated into the kingdom of Jesus Christ; that is how we are delivered from the power of darkness. For this to occur, the people must hear the word of truth.

A message that focuses solely on revealing the powers of darkness has no power in & of itself to impart Truth. There is a saying which goes, "Give a man a fish; you have fed him for today. Teach a man to fish and you have fed him for a lifetime." It is the same principle here. Expose an area of deception in the church, and some may hear; they may even come out of that deception. However, they will simply run right to another deception unless they have been born again and have the indwelling of the Holy Spirit to lead them.

Paul then encourages the saints to continue in several key areas:
  • Be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding
  • Walk worthy of the Lord
  • Be fruitful in every good work
  • Increased in the knowledge of God
  • Be strengthened with all might according to his glorious power
After having come to the knowledge of the truth, the focus of our attention is internal. This presents another issue with focusing solely on the errors in the church: it can become a distraction to our own maturation in Christ. We are to be leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ and going unto perfection. Yet as long as our attention is on others and what they are doing, we will not have the singleness of focus needed to run our own race.

Please understand that I am not trying to dissuade people from exposing darkness. On the contrary, I am stating that the only way to truly dispel darkness is to ourselves be vessels of light.

"Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven." Matthew 5:14-16

It is light that enables men to see. Delving only in the darkness still leaves them blind. We should also note that darkness has no substance on its own. Darkness is merely the absence of substance; the absence of light. Light doesn't have to chase darkness. As soon as light shines, the void is filled and darkness is no more.

"And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light." Romans 13:11-12

The armor we need to dispel the darkness - within and around us - is the light of Jesus Christ. The best - and only - offensive weapon in our spiritual armor is the sword of the Spirit, the word of God (Ephesians 6:11-17). It is this word which changes us from glory to glory into the image of Christ by the Spirit of the Lord (II Corinthians 3:14-18, James 1:21-25). If we try to attack satanic strongholds any other way, we are just spinning our wheels.

Consider the young man David, who was preparing to go up in battle against the giant Goliath. King Saul offered David his armor.

"
And Saul armed David with his armour, and he put an helmet of brass upon his head; also he armed him with a coat of mail." I Samuel 17:38

Notice as well that when this happened, David was dressed in the same armor as Goliath.

"
And there went out a champion out of the camp of the Philistines, named Goliath, of Gath, whose height was six cubits and a span. And he had an helmet of brass upon his head, and he was armed with a coat of mail..." I Samuel 17:4-5b

In Scripture, brass is often symbolic of human strength or fleshly effort. This is what much of the church is doing. They are going about in human strength to attack a giant that cannot be defeated carnally. This is why David was unable to use this armor; it had not been proven by him. As a result, he put these things off from him and instead went into battle with the only armor he knew: the righteousness of God alone.

"
Then said David to the Philistine, Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied. This day will the LORD deliver thee into mine hand; and I will smite thee, and take thine head from thee; and I will give the carcases of the host of the Philistines this day unto the fowls of the air, and to the wild beasts of the earth; that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel. And all this assembly shall know that the LORD saveth not with sword and spear: for the battle is the LORD'S, and he will give you into our hands." I Samuel 17:45-47

In a lot of ways, the church has put the cart before the horse. Instead of focusing on maturing in the faith to reflect the light of Christ within (which alone dispels the darkness), many are rushing forward in will power to try and tear down the kingdom of the enemy. This is out of order. Jesus' instruction to the Church was "pick up your cross and follow me"; not "pick up your megaphone and follow Satan.

As the image of Christ is formed within us, the darkness will be expelled, but more importantly, those with eyes to see and ears to hear will be drawn to the light. Even the lost will come to us saying, "I have even heard of thee, that the spirit of the gods is in thee, and that light and understanding and excellent wisdom is found in thee." Daniel 5:14

If you are truly grieved by the amount of deception in the church, if you sincerely yearn for the lost to come to the knowledge of Christ, then you must make the priority the inward work God is doing in your own souls. There is only one answer for us, and one answer for the lost: Christ in you, the hope of glory.

"Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts." Zacheriah 4:6b

If there is to be truth in the church, if there is to be unity, if there is to be a testimony, it will come by the Spirit of God as we are each transformed into being that truth, unity, and testimony.

"
But rise, and stand upon thy feet: for I have appeared unto thee for this purpose, to make thee a minister and a witness both of these things which thou hast seen, and of those things in the which I will appear unto thee; Delivering thee from the people, and from the Gentiles, unto whom now I send thee, to open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me."Acts 26:16-18

  1. Amen!
The Darkness is so thick today, and the people have become so accustomed to it, that they don't know they are walking around in the dark. Darkness has power as well. There is a fascination that comes with looking into the 'other side,' as evidenced by the sharp rise in movies and shows that promote, even exalt the works of Satan, presenting them as having 'good' in them, (Medium, Twilight Series, Ghost etc.). Promoting the lie that there is inherent good in everyone, that man is not really 'all' bad. While the Word tells us otherwise: Jer 10:23 O Lord , I know that [the determination of] the way of a man is not in himself; it is not in man [even in a strong man or in a man at his best] to direct his [own] steps.
Rom 7:18 For I know that nothing good dwells within me, that is, in my flesh. I can will what is right, but I cannot perform it. [I have the intention and urge to do what is right, but no power to carry it out.]
Rom 7:19 For I fail to practice the good deeds I desire to do, but the evil deeds that I do not desire to do are what I am [ever] doing.
Isa 64:6 For we have all become like one who is unclean [ceremonially, like a leper], and all our righteousness (our best deeds of rightness and justice) is like filthy rags or a polluted garment; we all fade like a leaf, and our iniquities, like the wind, take us away [far from God's favor, hurrying us toward destruction].

There is no good thing in us of ourselves.
We are called to be LIGHTS in the darkness. And the only LIGHT in us is Christ Himself, living through us. He alone can cause the darkness to flee. He alone can open the blind eyes and draw men unto Himself. Too often we become overly fascinated with the darkness, when we need to be pressing into the light.
Carnal man delights in comparing himself with others, and there are always others worse off that can make us look good in our own eyes. But 'others' are not the standard we need to measure ourselves against. We are to 'grow up' in Christ, to 'be as he is' in this world. Light dispels darkness, let's focus on the LIGHT!!
    Awesome post Mia, Thank you.

  2. I agree Cathy. There can be almost an inherent smugness that comes from focusing only on what is false. It is almost as if our souls tell us, "Well, at least I am better than THEM. I am not doing THAT. Just look at how shameful and deceived THEY are."

Such produces a false sense of comfort that we are better than we think we are. We are not really so bad afterall.

But, the mirror we are to hold to our faces, the standard by which we are compared is Jesus Christ.

I am not saying that we should get into a whole bunch of works trying to be like Jesus. I am saying that there is a journey God has for every Christian, to proceed in His word by the transforming power of His Spirit. There is a perfecting, a maturation, whereby the more we decrease, Jesus Christ increases in us.

Our greatest weapon is Jesus Christ, and the more we can be like Him, the less of a concern the darkness becomes.

    God Bless you sister!
